Emma's fingers paused, a little surprised, thinking she might have misheard. Dustin cooking?
"Bro, I really miss your cooking. Little Miss Chirpy here won't stop raving about it. Now I get why all your exes can't forget you. Handsome, loaded, and a kitchen wizard? No wonder they all fell for you."
A smirk tugged at Dustin's lips as he playfully poked her forehead. "Sweet talker, aren't you?"
Just then, there was a knock at the door. "Come in."
As he said that, Emma appeared at the hospital door, carrying a fruit basket and a bouquet of roses. Seeing the roses, Dustin couldn't help but laugh.
"Little broadcaster, are you visiting a crush? Bringing roses too?"
Emma stiffened, her face turning beet red as she tried to explain, but Dustin had already gotten up and walked over, reaching for the roses.
"They're not for you," Emma quickly said, clinging to them tightly.
Dustin frowned, grinding his teeth a bit. "You're giving them to me, and I don't even want them."
Emma sighed in relief. "That's just perfect."
Brielle, seeing the two blocking the door and not understanding their conversation, called out, "Bro?"
Dustin massaged his temples, puzzled why he was getting irritated over this little broadcaster. Because of that ten million? Impossible. Money was just paper to him, light and inconsequential.
Emma's gaze moved past him to Brielle, her tone worried. "Mr. Haywood, are you alright? I came to check on you. I'm sorry, it's all because I mentioned you in my live stream that Leona targeted you."
Seeing Emma's face, Brielle's mind flashed with images, and he nodded. "I'm fine, just minor injuries."
Emma, holding the roses, looked around the room for a vase but couldn't find one. Then her eyes landed on Dustin's fingertips, holding a vase. Her face immediately turned sheepish.
Dustin raised an eyebrow, lifting the vase higher. "Little broadcaster, if you want it, come and get it."
Emma's cheeks flushed with the tease, clutching the flowers tightly, her lips sealed shut. Brielle, sitting on the bed, was surprised to see Dustin teasing a new broadcaster like this. His brother was usually a perfect gentleman in front of women. Why was he picking on Emma?
Emma, sitting beside Dustin and seeing Brielle looking much better, let out a sigh of relief. It must've been a minor injury.
As Brielle and Dustin discussed Stellar Stage Entertainment and the live stream, Emma was about to speak up when a beautifully peeled apple was placed before her. The apple looked tempting and juicy.
Unsure if it was meant for her, she asked, "For me?"
Dustin found it amusing. "Who else would it be for?"
Emma, having walked a bit, was indeed a bit thirsty and reached out to grab it. But Dustin pulled it back teasingly. "Changed your mind? Little broadcaster, weren't you the one badmouthing me just the other day?"
Emma's hand froze mid-air, and she looked awkwardly embarrassed, almost as if she was about to cry from frustration. She looked up at him, her eyes brimming with tears, as if his few words had deeply hurt her.
Dustin paused, taken aback, then handed it over. "Don't tell me you're that sensitive. Here, eat it."
Emma pursed her lips, refusing to take it. "You're usually so good at throwing insults, how come you're getting teary over a little teasing?"
