Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1379

Jaired froze, his eyes locking onto a massive QR code for payments by the entrance. He had no clue when it had been put there. The thought of chipping in without having had a bite to eat made him feel slightly cheated. He swallowed his frustration, sat back down, and piled more food onto his plate.

The others started eating quietly as well.

Dustin served Brielle a piece of BBQ ribs. "Hey, Little Canary, just pretend you didn't see it, okay? Eat up."

King also offered Brielle a piece. "Dustin's right—what you don't see can't hurt you."

Brielle's gaze drifted towards Irene. Irene seemed like a different person, her face glowing with happiness, yet there was a hint of tears beneath that joy. Maybe only a woman could pick up on such subtle emotions.

It had taken them over a decade to get here, missing out on so many years, just to share a meal at the same table. They were unlucky in some ways but lucky in others.

Before leaving, Brielle thought for a moment and then scanned the QR code, transferring five million. The others reluctantly followed suit, but their congratulations were genuine.

Irene's wedding was incredibly simple. After the meal, everyone went their own ways, leaving just her and Bryan. Bryan then pulled out the ring he had prepared and slid it onto her finger. Irene examined the ring closely, laughing and crying at the same time.

Bryan had delayed presenting the ring because he feared she would react this way, and her tears were unstoppable. After using several tissues to dry her face, she finally stopped, smiling and saying, "It's so beautiful, this ring."

Bryan smiled back, "As long as you like it."

Of course, Irene loved it. Her tears flowed once more as she wrapped her arms around his neck, crying. Bryan gently patted her back, signaling the servants to clear the table as he carried Irene upstairs to stand in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows on the balcony.

"Don't cry; we have many more days ahead of us. This is just the beginning."

Irene nodded, taking another look at the ring on her finger. No matter what, she truly adored this world now.

On the way back, Brielle stared out the window, lost in thought, not even hearing King when he called her. Her mind was flooded with memories, including those of Max. She figured it would only be a few more days before everything came back to her. But she couldn't shake off the feeling that King was hiding something.

Curiously, she looked at him to find he was also staring outside, lost in his own thoughts. Brielle quietly grabbed his hand, "King?"
