Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 815

Brielle froze mid-step, thinking the guy had to be joking. Or maybe it was another prank, like when he hid among the mannequins at the store.

"Is King Keiran getting a kick out of this performance?" she muttered.

Keiran narrowed his eyes, let out a cold chuckle, and right in front of her, dialed 911. When the cops showed up to haul Brielle away, she never thought Keiran could turn on her so quickly. Was it really just because she took the cake and indirectly called him an idiot?

Since Keiran had made the call, he tagged along to the precinct. Dressed in a casual black suit, he lounged on the police station's couch like he owned the place. For the first time, Brielle was too flustered to speak as Keiran insisted she had forced her way into his home. No matter how much she pleaded, Keiran just crossed his arms and gave her a look that said, "You're not my type, back off."

Grinding her teeth, Brielle felt downright humiliated when Max showed up, making her feel even more embarrassed. Keiran was stubborn, refusing any settlement or compensation. Being a hotshot celebrity, if he didn't want to settle, the cops were practically powerless. It dawned on Brielle that Donny was right; this guy was weird.

Max arrived with Patrick by his side, and seeing them, something flickered in Keiran's eyes. Brielle thought he recognized Max until she heard him say, "Well, aren't you a looker? The new heartthrob on the block?"

Now she was truly baffled. How could someone in showbiz not know Max? Max chuckled at Brielle's dismay and presented a medical report from the hospital. Keiran suffered from prosopagnosia, also known as face blindness – he couldn't remember faces. To him, Brielle was a total stranger on her second visit to his room.

Brielle fell silent, piecing together why he lived near the sanitarium, in that secluded villa neighborhood. On Keiran's notepad was written: "visitor coming today." That's why he fancied a game of hide-and-seek. But once Brielle left, he discarded the note, and she became an intruder. Meeting someone with such severe face blindness was new to Brielle, and when they finally left the station, Keiran still stood by her, frowning as he caught her gaze.
