"Get up,"
Issac felt a kick on his body stir him from sleep. At first, he ignored it, murmuring nonsense and thinking it was Maxi up to her antics again. Lately, he has not been able to get enough sleep because of her seduction games. So he ignored the tug and turned to the other side of the bed, sinking into sleep once more only to feel a sharp pain across his head and he jolted upward, pissed off.
"For Fae sake, let me sleep, you little — oh...." He stopped midway, recognizing the familiar face scowling down at him, "My prince," Issac cleared his throat, composing himself and getting up to his feet.
"What brings you to my room at this time of the night?" Issac was honestly alarmed thinking something bad had happened. Probably an attack, but that didn’t seem to be the case.
Instead, Aldric tossed a cloak to him which he caught swiftly, and said to him, "Get dressed, the girls are gone."
"The girls are gone?" He raked his head in confusion, knowing there was only Islinda who could cause this kind of problem. So who else?
Aldric explained, "Maxi snuck Islinda out and while I trust she wouldn’t help her escape the Fae realm, the horse shifter is not the greatest caregiver and I worry instead about the human stupid enough to go with her. We have to get them back."
And that was how they tracked down the females here having the fun of their life.
Although Issac finally understood why the prince said Maxi was not trustable. It took him everything to stop the prince from marching up to the horse shifter when she flirted with Islinda.
What did that damn Fae say again? That she was tempted to steal her - Islinda - from Aldric? Issac scoffed at the thought knowing she didn’t mean it, right? Also, why should he work hard to get her attention? He was never interested in her in the first place, she was always the one following him like a royal puppy and seducing him at night.
There was no way Aldric would let her come close to Islinda. She was only bluffing and in the end, would come back to bother him. Not that he relished the attention, mind you. And no, he was not jealous at all. Maxi could chase other love interests as long as he cared - because he was above them all. He was the sugar she can’t resist.
"How long are we going to wait?" Issac said, yawning loudly to signify that he was getting bored. Both of them stuck out like sore thumbs in the middle of the festive crowd and it was hard to hide away from two dancing females who can’t stay at a place. This was stalking and it was becoming creepy.
"Till something happens," Aldric answered gruffly, glaring at him slightly.
Issac lifted his hands in surrender. Nope, he wasn’t going to comment anymore before someone bit his head off. He went back to staring at the females and he had to admit they were having the time of their lives. Issac was not the party type, but even he couldn’t help but tap his feet to the rhythm.
Aldric must have felt him vibing to the music because his face scrunched up and he suggested, "Perhaps If you’re in such a hurry to leave, we could simply go over and take them home."
"Whoah, slow down," Isaac stepped in his way before Aldric could think of making a move. He said, "My prince, I can’t tell if you’re allergic to happiness or simply asking for a death sentence."
He went on, "The human Islinda is cooped up in the castle all day and surrounded by unfamiliar faces while Maxi is stuck pretending to be a horse and this is the only opportunity the both have to unwind and let out the frustration. I can’t tell you what to do my prince, but I think you would be facing the wrath of two furious females if you dare to interrupt them." Issac spoke from experience since he had a sister and she was a little demon to raise.
