Chapter 206: What I Would Do To You Tonight

Call her childish for being afraid of a scene caused by her overactive imagination, but Islinda was not intent on having another panic attack while alone. She hasn’t forgotten what the first time felt like.

Islinda thought she was going to die, there was just this sense of impending doom that made the panic attack worse and much more intense, especially recalling how helpless she had felt in that room.

And then her heart was pounding so much faster it felt like it would pop out of her chest. She was choking on her breath and her throat was painfully tight. All she could hear was her blood pounding in her ears, which drowned out Aldric’s voice until that sharp slap jerked her back to reality.

Islinda has had pretty much many bad experiences in the human realm especially during hunting and in the hands of her late family. One time, she had come across a tiger in the woods but her heart remained shockingly still and her mind focused. She had been cautious, watching the tigers’ predatory move, and was able to attack before it got within an inch of her.

It wasn’t until she got home and Madam Alice and her daughters celebrated her win that the wariness and shock finally kicked in. Yet none of it had led to a panic attack, not even when she was younger, and her stepmother would lock her up in a dark shed whenever she tried being rebellious.

How then was this experience so different? Perhaps, it might have to do with the fact that she was in a different realm plus the crushing disappointment caused by Valerie and the thought of being forced into another body. Recalling the incident alone was enough to incite another attack.

Being Islinda was all she ever knew. This face and body belonged to her, was hers, so how could she take another’s? Again, it must have to do with the fact that such practice was only possible in the Fae realm and never thought of in the human realm, thus scaring the love of God out of her.

So she rushed into Aldric’s bed and pulled the sheet over herself, covering her body thoroughly. Islinda made her body smaller, curling in on herself, and waited for the fear to dissipate. It felt like forever for Islinda when it wasn’t up to a minute in reality and the sheet was suddenly snatched off her body, exposing her to the outside.

Aldric.

"What are you doing?" He asked with an unfathomable look in his eyes, tossing the cover away.

Islinda had no choice but to sit up and open her mouth to answer only to close it helplessly and she had to swallow much saliva instead to keep from drooling at the sight that greeted her. Aldric was standing at the bedside and his upper body was bare.

The runes were moving across his skin and compared to daytime in the library, now at night with the lowered Fae light, it writhed like golden snakes on his body. It was kind of terrifying and oddly beautiful at the same time. However, his moving tattoos were the least of Islinda’s problems.

She let herself indulge in the view of his stunning body honed by centuries of fighting and brutality. Was it the solid pack flowing down his tight chest, the arms corded with muscles, or the thin seducing trail of hair leading down into his pants that left Islinda hot and thirsty, pressing her thighs together?

This was a huge problem. Ever since she came into this realm, it has been fucking with her mind and libido. How could she feel such strong feelings of lust towards Aldric of all Fae’s? And the worst part was she still loved Valerie and that alone made her feel guilty. Valerie was an asshole for pulling that stunt with her, but Aldric was a bigger asshole and dangerous.

If there’s anyone she should be running into his arms right now, it should be Valerie and not Aldric. But then, the idea of running into his room seemed like a brilliant idea until now. No, this was not the time for this, she had to clear her thoughts.
