Chapter 230: [Bonus Chapter]Aren’t We All Perverts

Issac could not tell which was more frustrating, the unrelenting cold that was beginning to penetrate his bones or the annoying dark Fae horse shifter that he swore was relishing his misery.

At first, he thought that Maxi was messing around with him and would give up when she got bored, but that didn’t seem to be the case here. Currently. It seems that the horse shifter came prepared and not only was she lying down on her water-resistant sheet, but the annoyingly smart Fae had constructed a makeshift canopy tent.

In one word, while the snow came down in big flakes and melted on his body, Maxi was well protected and her leisure activity seemed to taunt him. She was on her back with her leg propped on her bent knee, lazy feeding on the snacks and fruits - she had undoubtedly stolen from the kitchen.

Issac tried not to think about how enticing her position was and how it would be nice to get a break from the harsh, biting cold. Issac gritted his teeth and looked away, with a bit of annoyance in his eyes. This was obviously Maxi trying to rile him up and get him to give up on his plan. Of all the places that she could "mind her business" Why was it beside him? She loved to get on his nerves.

"You do know you’re welcome to join me, there’s room for two." She patted the space beside her, with that deceiving smile.

As if he was going to fall for her trick. Issac scoffed at her antics.

She added at once, "I’m not trying to thwart your plans, my shy Fae. No, contrary to your thoughts, I’m here for you. Think of it as moral support. And right now, I’m sure a little break wouldn’t hurt you."

Issac’s head whipped towards her, his nostrils flaring, "What are you doing here, Maxi? Shouldn’t you be more concerned that a Fae might mistakenly come by and notice what you are," He hinted at the markings on her face.

"I told you, I’m here to support your plan that’s bound to fail."

Issac’s face soured.

"Sorry, not sorry. I can be quite blunt when someone I offered my elite advice to is behaving like a child."

His scowl deepened as he protested, "I am not a child!"

Yet, Maxi was not affected by his outburst, saying calmly, "I’m sorry my shy Fae but you were still sucking your mother’s nipples when I began to roam this realm. By human standards, I’m older than you by at least fifteen years," She trailed off, face scrunching as realization dawned on her, "Now, doesn’t that make our relationship rather awkward? Isn’t this referred to as child abuse in the human realm?"

Issac gawked at Maxi, rendered impossible with words. What in the world of Fae had he gotten himself into by getting involved with this maniac? And to think he still finds her sexy, somehow. Indeed, he has lost his damn mind.

Maxi suddenly grinned, a gleam in her eyes, "But on the bright side, this is not the human realm and you are grown. You grew up into a fine Fae, Aldric," Her eyes ran the length of him.

At once, Issac brought his hands to his chest, protecting himself from her lascivious looks. He had no doubt Maxi had undressed him with her eyes and he had no idea whether to be repulsed or aroused she checked him out.

He stared at her with furrowed eyes, "Does Aldric know his horse shifter is a pervert?"

Maxi laughed lightly, "Tell me, Issac, aren’t we all perverts?" She matter-of-factly waved her hands.

Unable to deal with Maxi and her quirks, Issac shook his head and turned away with his judgemental look. Without even realizing it, Maxi had kept the cold away by keeping him engaged in conversation and while he was tempted to continue with it, the dark horse shifter had a knack for rendering him speechless.
