Rosalind’s blood-curdling scream seemed to rend the very heavens as Maxi continued with her mental torture. She had crawled into a fetal position while her body convulsed from the assault, her voice hoarse from screaming.
Maxi snorted at the scene, "The gods help me, you scream like a girl," but it dawned on her the next minute, "Oh right, you’re a girl. You should scream harder then."
As a dark Fae, Maxi could get into Rosalind’s head and she inflicted a mental illusion of burning pain. Right now, Rosalind believed her head was on fire and the tormenting pain incapacitated her.
"Scream harder!" Maxi increased the torment, bending down to pick up Prince Wayne, her latest companion.
"Who is my cutie?" She pouted, making silly faces at the cat and ignoring the cries of the victim at her feet.
Tears slipped down Rosalind’s face and her hands dug into the soil so hard her nail broke. She was in immense pain and yet, she still managed to lift her face to say, "Y–You...! You’re a dark Fae..." Rosalind moaned as the pain seemed to come in torrents.
Maxi winked at her, "Surprise, right? I love to keep Fae guessing," She crouched, "But then worry, since you’re about to meet your ancestors, I’ll have you know that I’m a horse shifter too. Shocking, right? You must think that my kind is extinct by now, I know!"
She carried on, "Not just any horse shifter, but Prince Aldric’s exclusive and incredibly handsome stallion with the shiny black coat. The one and only Maximus," Maxi introduced herself with pride that was enough to cause her head to swell.
"And yeah, yeah, I know what you’re thinking, I’m a girl and Aldric’s stallion is obviously a male, but what can I do? I did not exactly ask to be born like this," Maxi yakked, oblivious to the fact the story of her abnormality was the least thing Rosalind wanted to listen to while writhing in pain.
"Do you know how much I was bullied for who I am? Those damn horse shifters didn’t understand the beauty of diversity! That must have been God’s intention when he made me...." She paused thoughtfully, her once bright expression turning sour, "Or perhaps I’m indeed an abnormality? Ha! Who cares?!" Maxi let out a hysterical laugh.
"You know what, let me tell you a story," Maxi said and as if that was not enough, sat down on the bare floor in a comfortable position with Prince Wayne, her obedient cat, resting on her lap, and all this happened with Rosalind still crying out in agony.
"So listen attentively," Maxi started, "As you know, horse shifters are horny creatures, not as much as rabbits, mind you! It is quite an insult to compare our concupiscence to rabbits. Anyway, my own mother could not hold in her libido because her own partner wouldn’t satisfy her. Yes, I know, my family was quite messed up. You could never imagine if I narrated my family history for you," Her eyes brightened with an idea," Would you want me to go off course and tell you about my family history though, and then I can pick up this story when we are done?"
