It was hilarious to Aldric how much Islinda could hate him with every fiber of her being and yet his arms were the very thing she fell into, asleep. To be honest, Aldric thought he would find it annoying, but it was pleasing to see her curled up in his strong arms and it triggered his protective instinct. The position felt natural as if she deserved to be there for —
What the hell was he thinking?
Aldric’s brows furrowed deeply with a frown. This must be the side effect of his damn alter ego frolicking with the human he had kept at arm’s length for good reasons. With a huff, he pulled up to his feet, carrying her weightless form in his arms while snatching the medallion from his pocket, mentally picturing the place he needed to go and in a flash, he was in her room.
He gently placed Islinda on the bed afraid to rouse her else she gave him that look full of burning hatred. He preferred her asleep and out of trouble. Her words stung like bees and it was a real effort to hold back his emotions. All he had to do was lash out and she would be obliterated from this life, the reminder helped him keep his temper in check whenever she ran her mouth.
After tucking her in bed, Aldric should have left but he didn’t. He watched her sleeping figure, she wore a serene countenance, bathed in the soft glow of restful tranquility. The subtle rise and fall of her chest accompanied a peaceful expression, as if dreams whispered gentle secrets, unlike the rude awakening he had exposed her to earlier.
But even with the moment of quiet beauty in repose, there was the aftermath to note. There was dried blood beneath her nose forming a dark, crusty mosaic, an ominous reminder of the incident in the drawing room. She must have gotten hit in the face. Nor did he notice it earlier because she, well, they had been busy arguing.
Out of curiosity, Aldric pressed down on the bridge of her nose and she winced, disrupting her peaceful features. She did not wake else the human would be screaming bloody murder by now, Adric noted with amusement. He made plans to send Zaya to heal her once he was done. Good thing he kept a healer at hand, the annoying human was a walking disaster.
His eyes then flickered down to her lips and his control began to slip. The gods help him, Aldric gasped in shock as flashes of memory assaulted him and it was all pictures of him in bed with Islinda. He growled a warning to the asshole in his head, knowing this was a low blow from his alter ego the meddlesome human had named Eli.
Aldric blocked the memory but it was almost impossible to revert to normal, not when the damage had been done. Even if that had been Eli, there was no mistaking that it had been his body and his face. He and Eli were one, even if they manifested at different times.
His line of sight fell on Islinda’s lips and he swallowed a lump, recalling the way he, no, Eli — he pretty much felt everything — had kissed her. The way he had nippled on her bottom lips, and his tongue plunged into her mouth, tasting her thoroughly.
Aldric growled once more, his hands forming fists on both sides of her head. He waged war against the overwhelming lust that slammed into him, and shut his eyes, trying to block everything out. The gods knew he and Eli were going to have a good talk after this was over.
But even with his eyes closed, the picture was clear in his mind. And not only did Aldric see, no, he felt it. He felt how good it had been to sink into her moist heat, she was all hot and tight. Aldric recalled how hard he had thrust into her and she had clamped around him, robbing him of all air. Sadly for him, there was more where it came from.
Eli slammed two days’ worth of memories of them lusting and fucking at him. Whenever Aldric thought it was over, it turned out there was more and the one that almost drove him to the edge was the scene of Islinda in the dining room sucking and taking him deep in her mouth.
