Prince Aldric stood at the spot unmoving. It had been minutes gone since Islinda hit him on the face and yet the move left a great impact because his hand still clasped his jaw. It was as if he was unable to believe she hit.
However, it wasn’t her audacity that stunned him, after all, Islinda was known to push his buttons, but the strength he felt in that blow. He felt his jaw slowly recover from the fracture it suffered and he flexed it just to be sure. Aldric’s eyes were narrowed into slits, his thinking cap on. His mind spiraled around one realization: Islinda broke his jaw.
How was that possible?
No, it should not be possible.
She was human and her hands should have fractured instead of his jaw. So how then? Perhaps the protection necklace? No, the gemstone should have shielded her from attacks, not amplified her own strength. That was not possible nor has he heard of it happening.
The only reason why the necklace had not repelled him was because he had no evil intent. The necklace could only pick up on a mental or physical attack that threatened her life, not the emotional aspect of it.
So who or what then lent her that strength? Aldric was riddled. It couldn’t be that Islinda was not human. Aldric frowned at that possibility. That can’t be. Islinda was fragile like all humans and if she was more than that, she was at the age to exhibit such abilities. Perhaps, he should ask about her age later.

"Of course, Prince Aldric, I’m speaking to you." She said, smiling politely.
Aldric looked her over and said just one word, "Interesting."
"Nice to finally meet you, Prince Aldric, I’m Elena...."
"Of the Raysin family." The dark Fae prince completed the title for her. "Yes, yes, heard that, see you. Now, you can move on. My mind is busy at the moment if you don’t mind." Aldric turned the other way, dismissing her as if she wasn’t worth anything.
Elena was beyond flabbergasted. No one has ever treated her that way and that only left her more intrigued. More than ever, she wanted to conquer the dark Fae prince.
She watched Aldric looking around, as if looking for someone and she guessed he was looking for the human. Her sources told her he was quite close to the human and it doesn’t seem to be false.
"You must be looking for the human?" She attempted to start a conversation with him.
But all that met her was silence.
She did not give up and said again,
