Mated To The Cruel Prince novel Chapter 424

Chapter 424: Maxi Left

As soon as Anya and her mother left, Oma gestured to Isaac with her chin, directing him towards her room. "Follow me."

Kayla sensed the tension between her mother and brother and attempted to speak up, but Isaac subtly shook his head, silently advising her not to interfere. Confused, Kayla was unaware of the underlying issue between the two of them. She was the only one in the family who remained ignorant about Maxi’s true identity.

Once upstairs, Oma turned her back to Isaac as he entered the room and closed the door behind him.

Oma faced him, her eyes filled with restrained anger. She demanded of Isaac, "Now tell me the truth about Maxi."

Isaac opened his mouth to speak, but Oma interrupted him, raising her hand to silence him. "Don’t even think about hiding the truth from me now. Earlier, Maxi revealed herself as a horse shifter, but she didn’t mention anything more. I saw her eyes, Isaac, they were completely black, like an endless void."

Oma already had suspicions about Maxi’s true nature, but she needed confirmation from her son. She wanted to hear the truth from his own lips.

Guilty, Isaac averted his gaze. He had no idea why Maxi decided to tell his mother the truth, but Oma had already caught a glimpse of her primal form - there was no hiding it anymore.

"Issac?" Oma called his name, and silence fell between them for a long moment. Her expression softened as she approached him, saying with a gentler tone, "Just tell me the truth, please."

Reluctantly, Isaac turned to his mother, guilt and pain flickering across his face. With a bitter smile, he confessed, "Mama, I didn’t mean to keep it from you, but I did it for your safety and hers." He took a deep breath, then continued, "She’s a dark Fae, mother."

Oma flinched as though she had been physically struck. She stared at Isaac, wide-eyed, for a long time before taking a shaky breath. "May the gods help me." She brought her hands to her mouth, trying to process the shock. Her mind was spinning, and nausea rose in her throat.

"Mother—" Isaac tried to reach out to her.

But Oma flinched away, glaring at him with anger.

"What were you thinking, Isaac? She’s a dark Fae, for crying out loud!" Oma burst out, no longer concerned about her voice carrying beyond the walls of the room.

"Trust me, I had the same thoughts, Mother. You scolded me for disrespecting a female - now you know why." Isaac concluded with a wry smile.

Oma ran her hand through her disheveled hair, utterly shaken. Nothing had ever rattled her as much as this. Where would she even begin? What could she do?

She looked up at her son, determination in her eyes. "You have to send her away."

A slight tic appeared on Isaac’s chin. "No."

"What?" Oma paled, her eyes widening in disbelief. She stepped closer to her son until they were face to face. "Did you just say no, Isaac? Isaac, for crying out loud, she’s a dark Fae. Feelings may come and go, but if they find out— We would be executed."

Oma choked on her own words as realization hit her. "By the gods, you want to marry a dark Fae!"

"No." It couldn’t be. fгeewebnovёl.com
