Mated To The Cruel Prince novel Chapter 43

Chapter 43: Put On A Sexy Lingerie

Earlier that night:

"Your Highness," Issac fell on his knees, greeting Prince Valerie after he came into the cottage.

"You’re here," Prince Valerie was on his feet instantly. He walked over to him, asking eagerly, "What did his majesty say?"

Issac was about to repeat the King’s message to him until he remembered the prince was not supposed to know about Aldric’s presence in the human.

He said instead, "His Majesty has agreed that you can remain in the human realm but only for a while. I am to make sure that you are not harmed."

Valerie nodded his head in understanding, a hint of a smile on his face, "As expected of my father." He lifted his head shapely, "And my other request?"

Issac reached into the pocket of his cloak and pulled out the medallion. He handed it to the prince who took it from him and wore it around his neck. Valerie was not a fool, he knew he was not safe in the human realm and might get into a situation that required a flight situation and the medallion comes in handy.

"Do you need anything else, my prince?"

"No. I have all I need for the moment." He added, "But I need you to stay close."

Hearing that, Issac’s nose wrinkled in distaste as he took in the sight of the poor cottage and Valerie noticed that.

"You don’t need to stay here with me. I wouldn’t want you to. It’s late, you can hide in the village. I’m sure an inn or two is still open." Valerie gave him a better option.

But the truth was that Valerie didn’t trust Issac enough to let him know of his relationship with Islinda. Fae and human relationship was not illegal in the kingdom of Astaria, but was frowned upon. Not to mention that he was royalty and the family line can not be corrupted or diluted with a half-human, half-fae child.

Issac serves his father and must be loyal to the king. If he knows of Islinda, he would probably report it to the king, thinking that he’s doing the right thing. Faeries are strong, pragmatic creature and detests emotions, but Valerie has never felt such strong feelings for anyone and would do everything to protect what he has with Islinda.

This was why he hadn’t told Islinda that he was royalty. She wouldn’t be able to deal with the shock and would probably stay away from him. Him being a Fae was enough of an obstacle in their relationship, not to mention he’s from a royal line. Valerie couldn’t lose Islinda now. He would rather her remain ignorant yet the both of them live in bliss, other than tell her the truth and destroy everything they have.

The prince was hiding something from him, Issac suspected yet did not say a word. He was nothing but a pawn in the games both princes were playing and the side he chose would determine if he lived or died. He wanted to live.

So he bowed his head one more time and retreated from the cottage. The night has fallen yet Issac was not scared, not when he was a creature to be feared too. He walked through the trail until he heard loud rustles behind him and Maximus trotted from his hiding place.

Maximus nudged him as soon as he walked up to him and Issac gave him a long look.

"Where do we go this time?" Her voice was alive in his head, startling him with the suddenness.

"I asked you to get out of my head." Issac frowned at him. It kind of felt invasive with her being in his head like that. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

"I don’t have a choice," She answered, still in his head, "I want to hold a normal conversation with you and it’s not like you read horse language."
