Chapter 507: Kill The Fae

The officer’s hand came crashing down, striking the boy with a force that made Islinda’s blood boil. She watched everything play out right in front of her with horror and despite her best efforts to control her anger, Islinda found herself struggling to contain the raging emotions bubbling within her.

Without a second thought, she leaped forward, her movements fueled by a potent mix of anger and desperation. Islinda pushed herself between the officer and the boy, her body acting on instinct alone.

"Don’t —!" Islinda warned through gritted teeth, her eyes darkened with anger, "Hit him again."

Silence fell as tension rippled through the air. Gabi marveled at Islinda’s bravery before worry marred her features at the gravity of her friend’s action. She just interfered with a Fae serious, a serious offense in this realm. Moreover, she knew these Fae and they wouldn’t take Islinda’s challenge lightly.

The officer, taken aback by Islinda’s sudden intervention, recoiled slightly, his confidence wavering in the face of her defiance. However, he soon recovered and there was cold fury in his eyes as he realized that he was challenged by a woman. A mere human. One he could easily stumble beneath his feet.

"What did you just say?" The officer sneered, looming over her

He was trying to intimidate her, Islinda realized. Which she found quite laughable. If she couldn’t submit to the feared dark Fae prince, Aldric, what chances did a mere officer have of intimidating her?

At that moment, standing face to face with the Fae officer, she refused to cower in fear. "Don’t. Hurt. The. Boy," She emphasized. "He stole from me and I forgive him. So let him go."

She added, "If you are so concerned about his future, perhaps then you rehabilitate him and not beat him like some kind of animal. What are the odds he wouldn’t go back to stealing after the punishment?"

There was a tense standoff between Islinda and the officer, their eyes locked in a silent battle of wills. His other partner and Gabi stood at the side without interfering. Islinda was not afraid of them, or what he might do to her.

In that moment, she found a strength within herself that she had never known before – a strength born not of physical prowess, but of sheer determination and unwavering resolve. To stand for what was right. Change started with a big step.

So Islinda remained steadfast, her stance unwavering as she met his gaze head-on. The officer was the first to look away, dark laughter erupting from his mouth, "So you’re now teaching me how to run my job?"

"That’s not what I mean, I’m just saying —" Islinda was still speaking when she felt a stinging pain across her face, the sharp crack echoing through the air.
