Islinda knew that Azula was not a saint, she was a demon after all, and she witnessed the chilling extent of her cruelty. Azula did not spare any. Not women nor children. In her defense, those children would turn out to be monsters just as their fathers before them and there will not be more birth with the females gone. The only difference was that their death was quick and painless. That was as far as her compassion ran.
Azula was as smart as she was mad. She took no prisoners and her death was swift and calculated. Not to mention that this time of the night when all should be asleep aided in her plan. Most of the Fae she had killed, especially the females and children, died in their sleep.
She didn’t want to draw the high lord’s attention to the mayhem she was unleashing on his people until she came for him too. Azula wanted him and his mate together, so she could finish them off together.
Hence she practically tiptoed into each home and killed everyone in it before they could draw attention to her. It was a good thing she was recovering quickly because then, she could use her other dangerous weapon, one more insidious than her sword: her ensnarement ability.
With a mere glance or whispered command, she could ensnare her victims, rendering them helpless to resist her will. It was a tool she wielded with deadly precision, ensuring no one could stand in her way as she exacted her vengeance.
She had killed a family of four that way. When Azula had snuck into the modest home, the man had been awake and his reflex was quick, but Azula came prepared. She recognized him instantly. He was among the Faeries who had been there that night when she had been captured. He was amongst those who had subjected her to this fate.
Azula had not forgotten all of their faces for one day. She had marked each and every one of them and while in her solitary confinement, she had imagined ways she could get back at each and everyone of them. Now, the opportunity was up and she couldn’t wait to start.
Azula ensnared him at once and unlike others who she had made freeze on the spot as she finished off the others, before eventually finishing them too, she had a far better plan for this one. She gave him the sword and made him kill his wife and his two children.
And no, she had not lied about giving the female and children a quick death. Some of them just didn’t die from her own hands. While the man killed his family, Azula eased her control over him a little and made sure he was well aware of him ending his family with his own hand.
She felt him fight against her manipulation, felt his roar of pain, when he put the sword in the heart of his lovely wife and children. She felt the way the agony and guilt nearly destroyed him. But Azula was not moved.
