"Azula!" Benjamin’s voice sliced through the air, his teeth clenched in fury. He tried to wrench the rod from his chest, but each movement sent searing waves of pain rippling through him, forcing him to cry out in agony.
"Oops, careful there," Azula taunted with mock sympathy. "Although I might have missed your heart by just a tiny little bit..." She gestured with her thumb and finger, indicating a small space. "It still doesn’t mean that I didn’t rupture other organs. In that position, you cannot heal, nor is there a healer around to help you recover. So if I were you, Benjamin, I would stay still else you bleed to death." Her sweet voice turned sinister. "Don’t worry, I’ll get back to you once I’m done with your intriguing mate here." She refocused her attention on Fayre, who iwas still stuck in the uncomfortable position.
"No, don’t you dare —!" Benjamin tried to move and ended up crying in pain instead.
Azula laughed at his condition while Fayre’s eyed were filled with tears, unamused with the demon’s twisted satisfaction in her mate’s suffering. Even Islinda at this point, began to feel for Benjamin and Fayre, even though they had initially been the bad guy, atleast Benjamin was. Azula was taking the revenge a bit too far. It would not hurt this much if Azula had simply ended them quickly and not prolong this heartache.
"Shhh," Azula soothed Fayre, catching her tear with her finger and bringing it to get lips and tasted it, contemplatively. "Tastes salty." She reviewed.
"The gods above!" Islinda gave up, throwing her hands in the air. There was simply no redemption for Azula. Even if the demon does get her revenge, Islinda could only pray that she returned to her realm, else the Fae realm was in trouble with an unhinged Succubus demon on the loose.
Fayre was as flabbergasted as Islinda at the gesture and she reigned herself to fate, saying, "Just get it over with it, already."
"What?" Azula seemed confused for a second, before her eyes lit up in excitement as she pointed out, "You mean you’re ready to be with me? You made the right decision, dear Fayre."
"W-what?" Fayre stuttered, going red in the face. "That is not happening! I mean just kill me already!"
"Tsk, Tsk," Azula clicked her tongue in disapproval. "That sounds too easy and merciful. Not to mention, Sorry, but you don’t command me. However, let’s make this interesting. Step this game up a little bit."
"What?"
"I’ll offer you two option."
Islinda watched the scene with apprehension. She has known Azula enough to know the truth was a sneaky, brilliant strategist and that couldn’t be good.
"What?"
Azula said, "I thought of many ways that I could make your mate suffer and it all comes to you. However, you treated me and I’m not exactly heartless, so I’m going to give you a chance. After all, your mate is the real culprit here, not you." She looked at Fayre with a gleam in her eyes," What do you think? "
Fayre spat out," Nothing good ever comes out from making a deal with a demon. "
"Exactly," Azula shamelessly agreed, her voice dripping with malice. "But you don’t exactly have a choice. So here it is. Option one is quite an easy one, all you have to do is to simply give me a kiss, reject Benjamin as your mate, and join my harem. Option two: reject option one and die alongside your mate." Her expression turned sinister, as if reliving the very moment. "And it’s going to be a painful death."
Almost immediately, the darkness vanished from Azula’s face as she chirped excitedly, "In one word, I intend to snatch you from your mate. So, what is it going to be, my lovely Fayre?" Azula asked, stroking her hair and taking some strands between her hands, letting them slip through her fingers. "Would you be on my winning side or his losing side?"
Almost immediately, Fayre lifted her head in Benjamin’s direction as if seeking his opinion and the Fae shook his head. "No don’t!" He warned her. "You should never trust demons." Benjamin told her and just when it seemed like Fayre was about to be swayed to his side, Azula chipped in.
"However, you can hold my kind to their words." She coerced Fayre, before saying to Benjamin, "Why do you need to badmouth my kind Benjamin when you Fae’s are a whole lot worse. Or perhaps you’re just a little bit jelly? Are you that scared of losing your mate? I thought you were too heartless to have one?"
