Mated To The Cruel Prince novel Chapter 739

Chapter 739: Don’t Ask Me To Share

At breakfast that day, Aldric sat rigidly, his jaw clenched and eyes stormy with barely contained anger. Every movement he made was tense, his hands gripping the silverware with enough force to turn his knuckles white.

Aldric had still not gotten over the cruel joke Azula pulled on him earlier that morning. The dark Fae prince had never felt such desperation — How he wished Islinda was back! He could not describe the joy that had filled his heart.

But it turned out to be a joke in the end. That small joke had hurt him and he was forgiving Azula anytime soon. That plan Maxi had communicated to him was definitely not happening anytime soon.

Across from Aldric, Azula seemed oblivious to his seething mood, a playful smirk dancing on her lips. She delicately picked at her food, her gaze occasionally flicking to Aldric with a glint of amusement. The tension between them was so palpable that it cast a heavy silence over the meal.

At the far end of the table, Maxi and Issac exchanged wary glances. Their eyes followed the silent drama unfolding before them, but they wisely chose to keep their thoughts to themselves. No matter how they saw it, this was between Aldric and Azula. Moreover, the demon was like a parasite and they were weary of her attention.

Azula tilted her head and regarded Aldric with a mockingly sweet expression. "You know, this food is absolutely delightful," she remarked, her tone dripping with exaggerated pleasure. "Don’t you think so, Aldric?"

Aldric’s glare could have scorched the air between them. "Eat your food and be silent," he growled, barely masking his frustration.

Maxi and Issac glanced at one another, their eyes making secret conversations. Maxi shook her head to something Issac communicated with his gaze, before taking a cautious sip of her wine. Issac signed, focusing intently on his plate. In the end, they would remain neutral observers to the clash unfolding before them.

Azula, far from being intimidated, simply leaned back in her chair and let out a soft, knowing laugh. She toyed with her glass, swirling the red wine inside with a look of idle fascination.

Azula’s smile widened as she leaned closer to Aldric, her eyes gleaming with a wicked gleam. "You do know how this can end, don’t you?" she purred.

Aldric’s gaze remained fixed on his plate, refusing to acknowledge her taunt. He clenched his fork tightly, his jaw set in a grim line.

Azula let out a soft, mocking laugh. "Simply let me go, and you wouldn’t have to be miserably attached to me. Although..." Her eyes sparked with mischief as she slowly picked up a single grape and popped it into her mouth, her lips closing around it seductively. "I cannot say that all the time we spent together was miserable. We did have some pretty hot and amazing moments..."

Maxi, having had enough, threw her hands up in exasperation. "By the gods! How long do we have to deal with this?"

"I believe she said until Prince Aldric lets her go," Issac ventured, only to receive a sharp glare from Maxi that made him instantly regret speaking.

"The hothead is right," Azula said, winking at Isaac. He nearly choked on his food, stunned by her brazen flirtation and Maxi’s growing anger.

"I told you he’s off-limits," Maxi snarled at Azula, her anger bubbling to the surface.

Azula smirked, her tone challenging. "I know, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t try."
