Inside Thorneville, Alton was reporting the situation to Delmont. "Those b*stards from Gloam Wing are out there every day, stealing land, food, and valuables from the other villages. They're even starting to…"
Alton's fists clenched tightly, his face contorted with rage. Delmont, sitting beside him, looked equally grave.
The Gloam Wing soldiers were wreaking havoc across the region. Everyone knew the danger of not standing together. It was only a matter of time before Gloam Wing came for Thorneville too.
"Delmont, the whole place is surrounded by Gloam Wing!" A Thorneville villager rushed in; panic etched on his face as he reported to Delmont.
Delmont's usually kind face twisted in anger, and he immediately marched toward the door.
Beyond the walls of Thorneville, thousands of Gloam Wing soldiers stood, setting up camp. They had planned a full assault, but to their surprise, Thorneville had become a fortress. The walls bristled with heavy weaponry, making even Kurtis' eyes twitch.
Since the last time Tigre Durham sent mercenaries to destroy Thorneville, Delmont had developed a serious condition: a deep-seated fear of insufficient firepower. So, when Thorneville was rebuilt, Delmont went on a spree, buying up every weapon he could get his hands on. If it was for sale, Thorneville had it.
Delmont climbed onto the wall and immediately saw the mass of Gloam Wing soldiers surrounding them.
"Give me the loudspeaker."
Alton quickly handed the loudspeaker to Delmont.
"Gentlemen, what brings you to the gates of Thorneville?"
Delmont's tone was polite despite the fact that anyone could see the Gloam Wing soldiers meant trouble.
