In the lobby, only Deanna was left.
She stood there, unsure whether to leave or stay.
Deanna recognized at a glance the man with gold-rimmed spectacles, one of the passengers from the car she hit yesterday.
As for the other man with a noble temperament, he should be inside the room as the scent of blood wafted out of it.
That man was obviously a big figure, not someone she could mess with. She should leave instead. However, as a doctor, she couldn't leave alone that man who was in a life-threatening situation.
Just as she hesitated whether to enter, Xavier's exclamation came from inside, "Mr. Mercer..."
Deanna immediately forgot her hesitation and stepped into the lounge.
Upon entering, she smelled a strong scent of traditional medicines.
A delicately featured man lay on a clean hospital bed, eyes closed, pale-faced, unconscious, with abnormal redness on his cheeks.
She could tell at a glance that he was running a fever, and it must have been high for quite some time.
Xavier and Ava beside him were both frantic, rushing around.
Lance had stayed overnight since coming last night, sleeping in the pharmacy.
He had been fine until Xavier came to fetch him just now and found something wrong: he couldn't wake him up, his breath was weak, and his forehead was burning hot.
Panicked, Xavier hurriedly went out to find Old Hughes.
Ava, witnessing this situation for the first time, tried to remain calm, suppressing her panic, and said in a low voice, "Xavier, Old Hughes isn't here now. Mr. Mercer's condition is urgent. Shall we take him to the hospital first?"
"That's the only option for now."
