Wendy hadn’t expected to have ended up with Gorman in such a bad way. But when it really happened, she felt it was no longer important.
Since when she decided to give up on him, she had never given herself any chance to turn back.
So whether Gorman believed her or not was no longer a problem to her now.
Next afternoon, Wendy arrived at the French restaurant with Henson's address. She took two buses to come here.
Henson drove here, she standing right beside the hollies near the entrance of the restaurant.
Henson got out of the car and handed the key to the waiter.
"Why not go inside first?"
Wendy laughed to explain, "I just want to have some private time with my money for some minutes first. But before I could come in, you have already arrived."
"Private time with your money?"
Wendy pointed to the restaurant. Then she said in a mysteriously tone, "This restaurant is such a high-end restaurant."
Henson smiled and continued asking. "So?"
"A large sum of money will leave me soon, so I want to spend some time here with them before I get inside."
"So will you treat me a dinner here or not?"
Wendy shrugged and answered, "Yes, I still will. After all, I do owe you a favor. And I have mourned for my purse before you arrived. All right then! Let's get inside to spend them!"
Wendy took a deep breath to walk into the restaurant.
Looking at her back, Henson couldn't help but laugh.
Was he old already? Or he had not met enough women?
Why he thought Wendy was so interesting?
They both were seated. After have a quick look at the menu, Wendy gave up to order her food.
So she said to Henson, "I will let you to get in charge of our dinner."
"Are you sure?" Henson asked, "Aren't you afraid that I will only choose the most expensive dishes?"
Wendy curled her lips with reluctance. "But I can't read French. You could order whatever you like, as long as your conscience won't hurt to see me to wash the dishes here in the end. Then I will be all fine."
Wendy said with bravery.
Henson smiled but did not make a reply. He lowered his head to check the menu and then began to order food.
Wendy couldn't understand why they use French menu in USA.
Using French to laugh at her ignorance?
Henson had finished his order.
Then he asked Wendy, "I have ordered a bottle of champagne. How about having a drink before dinner?"
Wendy shrugged and said indifferently, "Why not."
The French food here served slowly.
But Wendy wasn't in a hurry. After taking a good sip of the champagne, Wendy asked Henson, "So what exactly did you say to my principal to change her mind so easily?"
"Curious?"
"A little," Wendy nodded. "If it is a secret, then please just forget my question."
"I only said three sentences to her.I told her that I liked you, and order her to give your job back. Otherwise, the Charles family and the Taylor family won't be partners anymore."
Wendy blushed for Henson's sudden confession to her. No wonder why Gorman was so furious and came to argue with her yesterday.
"Why are you flushing?"
"Maybe because of the wine." Wendy lifted her glass to gulp the wine.
Then Wendy asked him, "So my principal just agreed smoothly?"
"No, I have heard many bad things about you from her."
Wendy frowned, "What have she said?"
"So curious again?"
Wendy felt a bit embarrassed to admitted it. "Not really."
"How about this? I'll tell you the content of our talk if you agree with me on one thing."
"No, I refuse this suggestion."
