Chapter 1833
Vermont was unconcerned. “Keegan is a grown man, not a fool. I'm sure Jaylene won't be able to snatch him away.”
"Did you not see what happened at the banquet? She kept filling Keegan's glass. It's clear she has ill intentions,” Felicity persisted.
Vermont giggled, "What? Are you worried she'll get him drunk and take advantage of him?"
Felicity glared at him and said, "Well, it's not entirely impossible, is it? What if Keegan gets drunk, loses his judgment, and does something inexplicable? Stella will never forgive him.."
Vermont laughed heartily. He held Felicity's hand and said, ” Miss bandit, you're inexperienced in love. You don'tunderstand men well.”
Felicity did not understand what he meant.
"Using alcohol as an excuse for inappropriate behavior is just a lame attempt by men with ulterior motives. If a man wants to misbehave, even a sip of vinegar can make him drunk. If he's not interested, no amount of alcohol will work. Judging from Keegan's character, he wouldn't stoop to such actions.”
Felicity felt somewhat reassured, but as she listened to Vermont's knowledge of such tactics, she narrowed her eyes and questioned, "Do you often pretend to be drunk and engage in inappropriate activities?”
Hearing that, Vermont chuckled. He kissed the back of Felicity's hand and looked at her tenderly. "While I'm no saint, I'll never stoop to such tasteless acts."
After a pause, he complained, "You, on the other hand, have such poor alcohol tolerance. I can't believe you got drunk and discussed art films with strangers you've just met.”
Annoyed and embarrassed, Felicity slapped him on the head and said, “Shut your mouth!”
Vermont saw her angry expression, and his heart softened.
Just as he was about to say something, Keegan and Jaylene exited the elevator.
