Verena wanted to get her hands off, but Louis still grabbed her hard.
When seeing that, Lemuel suddenly frowned, looking colder.
Verena forced a smile and tried to calm herself down, "Sorry, Mr. Louis, you put your hands on mine."
Louis still looked casual and smiled warmly at her, "Sorry for offending you. But your hands look nice and it feels so smooth just like a piece of flawless jade."
He didn't let her go until he gave a hand-kissing. However, he still seemed to fix his eyes on her.
Verena hurried to walk out of the office.
Lemuel suddenly paused while flipping the files. Then he raised his head and happened to take a glimpse at her, who was walking away. Then he let out a meaningful smile, 'You look quite clever this time.'
As time went by, Verena was sitting still on her seat, looking distracted.
After sending coffee to the office, she didn't even walk in for the whole day. For the rest of her day, she had been reading the files sent by Anna.
Soon, it was off-work time. All staffs put down the files they were working on and were about to leave.
When seeing that Verena still intended to stay, Anna paused curiously, "Miss Moore, time to get off work."
"I know. I will leave after reading those files. Be careful on your way home." Verena smiled politely.
"Okay, I am leaving then. Don't make it too late."
"Okay!"
After reading all the files, it was 7:00 PM. The sky turned to be a bit dark.
She walked out of the building with her bag. Under the dim street light, she felt exceedingly peaceful.
However, she suddenly sprained her own ankle. She couldn't help exclaiming and stumbled down on the ground.
Lemuel, who was driving, happened to see her lying on the ground. Then he fixed his eyes on her.
The car slowly stopped beside her.
She was stunned when seeing the clear-cut profile of his face. She stared at him, looking confused.
"Get in the car!" Lemuel said.
Seeing his cold face, Verena answered out of instinct, "I can walk myself!"
He looked at her and then said mockingly, "Don't you think you look awkward?"
Verena was rendered blushed. She kept murmuring to herself, 'It's none of your business!'
"Get on the car!" his voice sounded stronger.
Since she had sprained her ankle, she couldn't walk any further. So she still decided to get in the car.
When she reached the back seat and was about to open the door, his annoying voice again, "I am not your chauffeur!"
When hearing that, Verena had to open the door in the front and sat beside him.
The car fell into deadly silent again.
She felt like being suffocated. She suddenly regretted getting on his car.
As the car went far away, another silver Rolls-Royce came out of the dark.
