Queenie’s eyes were red as she chuckled bitterly. What did her parents know about how aggrieved she was? Ever since Bonnie came home, she came up with all sorts of ways to snatch everything away, and Queenie had given in every single time. She had compromised wherever she could. She was even willing to give Leslie to Bonnie, but why did she have to steal him away like that? Could they not at least have waited until the engagement had been called off?
