Oliver: "Just so happens I’m at your door. Come and open it for me."
"What?!" Xanthea panicked, "You're at the door right now?!"
"Yeah, am I not welcome?"
"Of course, you're welcome! It's just terribly unfortunate timing, I left half an hour ago, so it might be..."
"Inconvenient, huh?" Oliver understood, "Well, let Orion take the phone then."
"Sure!"
Xanthea instinctively agreed, then realized what did she just agree to?!
Orion, who had been playfully nipping at her neck, paused slightly, his eyes dazed, and called out, "Uncle."
Xanthea glared at him furiously, "!" Who allowed him to call out?
And that deep, husky voice, like someone talking the morning after a night out. This scheming fox did it on purpose!
"Orion, I had a hunch it was you."
"Uncle, listen, I—"
"Alright, Xan, stop lying" Oliver laughed, "I've watched you grow up. Do you really think I can't tell when you're telling the truth or not?"
This was it. She was done for!
He knew she and Orion had spent the night together, breaking over a hundred rules of the Nightshade family. He was definitely going to scold her!
Xanthea felt like a withered flower, hanging her head low waiting for the scolding, but to her surprise, Oliver offered her comfort.
