My dear lawyer novel Chapter 407

“Selina!” Vivian was surprised and was about to help when a strong arm stopped her on her waist. She turned around and saw William with an indifferent look, hard to understand. “What are you doing? Selina is just a girl.” Vivian said with anger.

“Don’t worry. She’s quite strong. She won’t get hurt.” William laughed.

Selina was the apple of Grace’s eye. If not for her annoying temper, he wouldn’t have kept her out.

“Worrying about others? You’d better worry about yourself.” William sneered, holding Vivian in his arms.

Vivian bit her lips and cried out, “Let go of me, you jerk. Let go now!” She seemed to smell some strange perfume around his nose, which reminded her that William and Angie had stayed together in the study for some time. She felt like vomiting at the thought of that.

One of William’s shoulders hadn’t recovered yet but the other one was strong enough to carry Vivian. He strode forward despite of her rebellious struggle.

Vivian was still fighting against William who was carrying her even tighter. She was so pissed off that she bit him on his shoulder hard. William felt the hurt and threw her onto the couch. Bang! Her head hit on the couch.

“Are you a dog?” William took off his coat and found his shoulder bruised. He knew she was really angry based on his experience these years.

Vivian stared at him and spitted, “I told you to let go of me!”

William rolled his eyes and asked, “What’s the fight for? If it’s because of Angie, I can only tell you it’s not the time. As for Roe, I have promised you he will be totally safe. Stop being irrational, Ok?”

“I’m not being irrational. I mean every word of it.” Vivian said word by word and scornfully, “I don’t believe you.” She must be stupid enough to believe William. How come she had trusted him before? He should have never had credit with her. She thought to herself and went back to her room before William had time to argue.

William watched her disappeared in his view for quite a while and finally left in anger.

Mrs. Lucia, William’s mother, was awaken by the noise and came out to see what happened in the living room. When they all left, she thought of something. Seeing what had just happened, she had quite a different opinion about Vivian who was gentle yet powerful in some aspects. And it seemed that she didn’t care about the marriage. It was her son who... Suddenly, she glanced at a small figure, crouching in a corner. It was so small that she could hardly see if she didn’t see carefully.

Shocked, she called cautiously, “Roe?” The little boy looked up, sad. She felt sorry for him. When the parents quarreled, kids were the ones who suffer most. She went up to hug him and asked, “Good Roe, when did you come out?”

“I’ve been here for some time.” Roe was unhappy.

She was worried, “Did you see what happened just now?”

“Yeah.”

She touched his head and comforted him tenderly, “Mom and Dad were just joking. Don’t take it seriously. Go and have some good sleep. Everything’s gonna be fine.”

“They were not!” Roe argued.
