"Mr. Williams?"
People nearby all looked at William in doubt, as his face changed suddenly.
William’s mind went blank and after a moment of suffocating, he soon thought of Vivian in the old house, Mr. Hamilton's place where no outsider can enter.
So she should be safe.
William stepped aside, "Roe, please explain clearly, what's wrong with your mother?" "Edward took a lot of people to come over and searched our room finding something, which mom said she didn't know. But he still took my mother away, because he said it belonged to great grandpa. Dad, mom can't steal great grandpa's things right?” Roe was clever as he articulated what he saw. His words were easy for William to understand, so it let him figure it out quickly.
"Roe, you are a good boy. It should be a mistake. I will go back right now, but you need to go to sleep. Don’t think too much, okay?" Although William was extremely anxious, he still talked to Roe patiently.
Just when William wanted to hang up the phone, Roe’s naive voice said worriedly, "Dad, I can’t stop thinking about mom. I want to go find grandma." His Adam's apple moved, kids have the most accurate sixth sense, could Roe also sense that something big was coming? William's said gently, "OK, go find grandma." After hanging up the phone, he sent orders to someone nearby, "Find the whereabouts of Daniel! At whatever cost! Report to me if there is any resistance, and make sure to let me see the result before six o'clock tomorrow morning!"
There was a marked stillness in the atmosphere. As a wanted man on several target lists, Daniel could stay safely in the city of Jin'an for so many years. Now his coming to the J city was still invisible. Everyone knew Daniel's sharp mind, how can such a cunning man be tracked in just a few hours? Instantly, everyone felt they were under great pressure. Soon after, William's car rushed towards home.
The hall of the house was now ablaze with lights.
His parents and Oven who was rarely home were all at the spot.
Vivian, as the center of the storm, was questioned coldly by Mr. Hamilton.
"Vivian, where is the other half?" Mr. Hamilton’s eyes were frizzing cold as ice. Vivian's was frightened to the extreme.
She used to think Mr. Hamilton had been treating her in a coldest way. But now, she understood that he had been kind to her actually. It was a combative stare from a man tempered by real battles. The stares were chilling enough to make her wonder why she still existed in the world.
Vivian fell into silence.
Mr. Hamilton didn't believe a word of her, no matter how many times she repeated. She had a sudden feeling that she might get herself killed here.
What was so important to a man who were in such a high position and had lived through all the ups and downs of life? It must be something crucial to the Lu family or something of national importance.
"Father, there must be a mistake, she..." Mrs. Lucia couldn’t bear the terrible atmosphere, intending to stop the questioning.
"You take care of Roe, he is afraid to sleep alone." William’s father said to Mrs. Lucia.
He was a man, and he knew his father very well. Judging from his father's appearance, he was afraid that it must be a big deal.
Whether it was true or not, it was not something that can be explained in a word right now.
Mrs. Lucia knew she had made a mistake, so she took a sigh and looked at Vivian with encouragement and sympathy, then left. "Vivian, regardless of whether you did it or not, the fact is it was found in your room." William’s father intended to degrade the fight, picking up the conversation.
