Chapter 137 Do You Like Children
Kendrick just finished the test in the morning.
He was extremely uncomfortable, leaning against the head of the bed with a depressed look.
Owen was talking to Kendrick about the operation.
Seeing that Kendrick didn't respond, Owen said, "Have a good rest."
Actually, such a patient was quite reassuring.
He didn't have much of his own thoughts during the treatment.
Besides, he basically followed the advice of professional doctors.
Getting along with Kendrick this month blew Owen's mind and changed Owen's previous cognition of Kendrick.
Although Kendrick was occasionally arrogant and naive, most of the time he was gentle and rational.
"Wait." Kendrick stopped Owen and said, "I have a few questions."
"Go ahead."
"What are the chances of me standing up again?"
"Eighty percent," said Owen.
It was Owen's conservative estimate.
Natalie had even told Owen that it could be ninety percent.
However, Owen didn't dare to tell Kendrick the truth.
After all, there was no precedent for such a kind of surgery.
Kendrick smiled.
He had never asked this before. He just passively accepted everything.
Now, Natalie was not here, so Kendrick simply asked Owen about it.
"Eighty percent." Kendrick repeated it and then continued, "There was no precedent for reference before." Kendrick looked up at Owen.
Owen was nervous because of Kendrick's gaze.
"Collagen scaffold bypass graft guides nerve cell regeneration. Is this the surgical plan you proposed?"
"Yes."
Kendrick continued, "But you haven't studied any subject related to it before."
This idea was completely ahead of the way that no one had ever tried in this era.
Kendrick wondered how Owen came up with the idea.
"It's feasible," Owen explained the medical principles to Kendrick.
"I'm not questioning your professional ability." Kendrick continued, "I just think that there is a missing link in the chain."
Owen couldn't get a reasonable explanation for a while.
"My wife trusts you." Kendrick paused and added, "Certainly, I trust you too."
Owen finally breathed a sigh of relief.
...
When Natalie entered the ward holding flowers, she happened to see Owen coming out.
Owen wanted to say something but then hesitated. Finally, he just looked at Natalie and gave a hint to her.
Natalie was confused.
She couldn't understand what Owen meant at all!
Looking at Owen's downcast look, Natalie wondered if Kendrick embarrassed Owen again.
Natalie opened the door of the ward and put flowers in the vase. Then she said, "When I came in just now, I ran into Dr. Gentry. His expression is difficult to describe."
Natalie thought, "His expression is like my expression on that day when I was asked several sharp questions in the meeting room."
Kendrick replied directly, "I asked him a few questions."
Natalie wondered what questions could make Owen so frustrated.
Natalie asked, "What did you ask?"
"About the operation." Kendrick smiled and changed the subject, "Why are you back so early?"
"I simply had one meeting and arranged work. Nothing serious."
Kendrick frowned suddenly and subconsciously bent down to cover his stomach.
"What's the matter?"
"It's okay." Kendrick shook his head, straightened up for a few seconds, and then continued to annotate the documents.
Natalie looked at Kendrick's pale face and said with concern, "Take a break. Stop reading the documents."
Work was endless.
In the name of a business trip and leaving, Kendrick only had ten days off.
There must be many people who watched Kendrick like a hawk just because he was in charge of the company.
