My Ex-husband Begs Me Back (Ayan and Camille) novel Chapter 1073

Chapter 1073: Pitiful

The nurse felt rather helpless in this situation. She couldn't afford to offend Page, so she spoke softly, "Mrs. Armstrong, I've already made the call. Miss Armstrong is aware and should be on her way."

As for the instructions Page gave the nurse to deceive Camille, the nurse dared not mention them. After all, she was aware of Camille's identity. If her lie were exposed, it might jeopardize her job.

Nonetheless, Page's attitude was anything but friendly. Even when the nurse ignored her, her voice never ceased, filled with blame, anger, and dissatisfaction.

Camille stood by the door, her expression cold. She actually didn't want to go inside since it seemed there was no real issue, and she had only come to find out about Camille's condition. However, if she could scold someone and maintain her vigor, then everything was likely fine.

Just as Camille contemplated leaving, she heard a sudden noise from inside the room. Followed by Page's tirade, "You're just a little nurse, and you can't even handle such a simple task. Do you believe I'll file a complaint against you?"

The nurse felt quite helpless and replied, "Mrs. Armstrong, I've done everything you asked me to do. What else would you like me to do?"

"If you've done everything, why isn't she here yet? It's because you're so inefficient. You're completely useless! Just wait, I will definitely complain about you. You..."

Before Page could finish her sentence, Camille had already pushed open the door to the ward. She stood at the entrance, her gaze cold, looking at Page, who was reclining on the hospital bed. Since it was a private room, Page had no concerns about disturbing others. Broken glass from a smashed water cup littered the floor, and the nurse stood nearby, wearing a helpless and aggrieved expression.

Camille cast a disinterested glance at Page and then shifted her gaze to the nurse, saying, "Sorry for the trouble."

Seeing Camille, the nurse felt as if she had been thrown a lifeline. "It's okay."

Camille turned her gaze back to Page, her expression frigid, and asked, "Why do you always like to implicate innocent people? What's the point of it?"

Page, however, didn't mind if Camille had heard what she had just said. Instead, she responded reproachfully, "Why are you only coming now?"

Camille's face remained cold and indifferent, her voice equally icy. "Shouldn't you be contacting him at this time? What's the use of contacting me?"

"Camille, why are you saying such heartless words? I'm your mother. I had an accident while coming out from the Simpson family, and I didn't call you immediately because I was worried about disturbing your rest. But now you're acting like this. Do you even consider me your mother?" Page questioned coldly.

Since the room's door was open, Page's words naturally echoed through the quiet hospital ward. Camille, however, displayed no emotions or reactions, gazing at her with the same frigid and indifferent expression, offering no response.

It was as if Page's emotional outburst were as effective as striking a cotton ball with a heavy punch, causing no sensation. She couldn't endure this. Pointing her finger at Camille, she asked angrily, "Camille, are you deliberately ignoring me? Are you disregarding me completely?"

Camille's voice turned cold as she replied, "If you continue with this attitude, I don't think we have anything more to discuss. I will have someone from the Armstrong family notified. They'll send people to attend to your needs. This is a hospital, not your backyard." She turned to leave.

Page had reached her limit and couldn't bear it any longer. She shouted, her emotions running high, "Camille, stop right there! If you dare to leave, I will make you regret it. Do you believe me?"

Camille paid no attention to her words and continued walking out. Finally, she exited the room.

The driver closed the door behind her, and inside, Page could be heard throwing things, although it wasn't very loud with the door shut.
