Wasn't this thought quite normal?
So Camille didn't think there was anything wrong with it.
But Ayan believed Camille was upset, and his voice tensed as he asked, "Are you angry?"
"I'm not angry. Why would you think that?" Camille couldn't understand Ayan's perspective.
Ayan said, "Your attitude and tone toward me have changed. Is it because I didn't appear by your side right away? Are you disappointed in me?"
"Ayan, you were on a business trip, not on vacation. If you were traveling and left Hance City, perhaps I'd have some emotions about it. But you were working. I'm not a three-year-old child. Why would I be disappointed? Besides, didn't I say this was just an accident? Accidents are unpredictable for all of us. Even though you arranged for people to protect me, they're human too, and they can make mistakes. So, I don't think we need to be too harsh. Of course, I understand you're doing it for my good. My saying this now might make it seem like you're the bad one, and I'm the good one, but that's not what I'm thinking. These discussions are just between us privately."
Camille said a lot, but in reality, it wasn't a significant matter. She didn't need to worry about how he managed his people because he had his rhythm and style in dealing with such issues.
Of course, Camille knew that Ayan was acting in her best interest, and he was concerned about her, which is why he was so anxious.
So Camille continued, "Ayan, I know you're worried about me, so I'll also be careful. This incident is something neither of us wanted, but we're fortunate it wasn't a big deal. I'm truly unharmed, so please don't feel guilty or anxious anymore, okay?"
Ayan remained silent, listening to Camille's words quietly. Eventually, he asked a question, "Do you think I'm putting too much pressure on you?"
"I don't feel uncomfortable. I just don't want you to have too much pressure. You've already done a great job, and you've protected me well. Sometimes, unexpected things are things we can't prevent. As for everything else, we've done well enough. I don't want you to feel guilty and reflective just because I had a small accident."
Sometimes, she wondered if Ayan in this marriage had become increasingly submissive after their divorce.
Currently, Ayan loved her, and she could clearly feel it.
Because Ayan had her in his heart, Camille wanted an equal relationship between them.
She had felt that way before, and she knew that loving someone deeply could lead to losing oneself, whether or not the other person recognized it. That kind of feeling was really hard to bear.
It was like holding onto quicksand tightly; the more you held, the more it slipped away.
Later, she learned to let go and release her emotions, and it made her feel more relaxed.
Of course, it wasn't because she stopped loving, but because she learned how to love, which was a much better choice for both herself and the other person.
The two of them chatted for a while. Ayan was a very intelligent person, so he quickly changed the topic back to Jordan.
Ayan asked, "Why was he there?"
"I don't know. If you're curious, you should ask him. You two know each other, right?" Camille smiled faintly and added, "Are you upset because he helped me?"
This question had been on her mind for quite a while, and she couldn't help but ask.
Ayan replied, "I'm not upset. I'm happy that he helped you. It's because of him that you were in less danger. When I return to Hance City, let's invite him to dinner!"
"Do we really need to do that?"
"Of course, he helped you. Treating him to a meal is the least we can do. We should invite Rex too since Sienna helped as well. The cost of the meal should be shared by both of them."
