Camille didn't say a word. She simply remained silent, staring ahead, as the police knocked on the door and entered. Soon, they came out with Eileen and Ayan from inside.
However, Eileen was taken away in a police car, while Ayan stood at the doorway, watching her get into the car. Eileen's emotions were naturally very agitated, but the police didn't give her any chance and quickly closed the door.
The police stood in front of Ayan, saying something that Camille couldn't hear. Ayan nodded in response, and then watched as the police got into the car and drove away. He stood there, gazing until the police car disappeared. Then, his gaze swept around the surroundings, finally landing on the direction where Camille and Kian were.
Perhaps he hadn't expected Camille to be there, so he was momentarily stunned. But the next second, he started walking towards them.
The distance between them wasn't far, but it would still take two or three minutes to walk. He approached Camille, leaning down in front of her, his gaze unwavering. He asked in a soft voice, "Are you angry?"
Camille met his gaze, her eyes shimmering with a mix of complex emotions. Her voice was low as she said, "What exactly happened? Why didn't you tell me anything? I was so worried."
Camille told Ayan about following him all the way from Darkmoor to here. In truth, she was really worried and didn't know what to do.
After listening, Ayan smiled faintly and then pulled her into his arms. He whispered, "It's my fault. I should have told you in advance. It just happened so suddenly, and I was afraid you would worry, so I planned to tell you after it was resolved."
Camille snorted softly, her tone indifferent. "You just didn't want me to know. You do dangerous things without telling me. Do you know that I misunderstood just now? My mind was filled with all sorts of wild thoughts."
"It's my fault."
"Aren't you afraid that I would barge in?"
Camille suddenly asked.
Ayan was also taken aback, seriously considering it for a moment before answering, "Yes, I'm afraid. If you had really barged in, today's plan would probably have been ruined."
Ayan said that he and Eileen were having dinner in a private room at Darkmoor, but he didn't really know what Eileen's intentions were. During the meal, his phone suddenly rang, and an unfamiliar number told him that there was a package that needed his signature. However, this was clearly strange and impossible. His number couldn't have been leaked. The only possibility was that someone who knew his number deliberately leaked it.
Ayan cooperated and went out to answer the call, instantly understanding Eileen's intentions. She probably wanted to put something in his teacup or utensils. As it turned out, that was exactly the case.
But in order to see Eileen's true intentions, Ayan didn't startle the snake in the grass. Instead, he continued to cooperate with her according to her intentions. The only thing he didn't anticipate was that Eileen, to avoid any mishaps, also gave something to Kian through the hands of a waiter, so Kian didn't catch up with them immediately.
However, Ayan was alert from the beginning. With precautions in place, he naturally didn't eat much, just lightly touching the food without consuming much.
