Seeing an unmarked number, Camille's forehead subconsciously furrowed.
In her mind, she immediately thought of one person she was not too eager to answer.
But the phone kept ringing, and if she kept ignoring it, who knows what the other party might do out of frustration?
The more Camille thought about it, the more worried she became, so she reached out and picked up the phone, lightly pressing the answer button.
She didn't speak, instead holding her breath in silence, as the voice on the other end of the line spoke, confirming Camille's guess: "It's me."
The familiar voice of a man verified Camille's suspicions.
She narrowed her eyes without intending to speak, but the other party seemed unfazed, continuing indifferently, "Has Ayan gone abroad?"
Camille's face changed, and her whole demeanor instantly became tense.
But soon, she took a deep breath in silence, then calmly said, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Camille, do you really not know, or are you pretending not to know? Ayan has clearly gone abroad on a business trip. Why did you lie to me and say he's in Hance City?"
"He was originally in Hance City. If you don't believe me, you can go to Simpson Group to check, can't you?"
"Camille, are you trying to evade me? Don't you fear..." his words were full of threats and warnings, his voice filled with a sharp coldness as he continued, "So, you still refuse to tell the truth?"
Camille pursed her lips and naturally remained silent. After all, he had no evidence, so why should she believe him?
She replied, "I don't understand what you mean. If you really suspect me like this, why bother making this call?"
Preston seemed angry. He snorted coldly and said, "What do you mean? Are you not afraid now? Do you think Ayan's return has made you fearless? Camille, I'm in the dark while you're in the light. You know my personality, and you know exactly what I'm capable of."
Preston completely exhibited a fearless attitude, causing an inexplicable chill down one's spine, instilling an indescribable sense of fear.
Camille remained composed, saying, "If you have evidence, just present it. If not, there's no need to blindly probe me. Honestly, it's very boring, with no meaning at all."
Her attitude caused Preston's voice to disappear briefly for a few seconds, but that didn't stop him.
Preston said, "Camille, if I didn't have evidence, why would I call you?"
