Page was biased to the core towards her, never considering her even for a moment, even when she had requests, they were all in an authoritative tone.
Not just towards her, but towards Timmy as well, never genuinely looking at Timmy, not even pretending to.
While others had a distant kinship, Page did not, because she did not like her, so she would not like her child either.
So, Camille felt she should hate her.
But to hate someone requires great tolerance, constantly keeping that person in mind.
It requires a large capacity.
Sienna gently held Camille's hand and said in a soothing voice, "Why hate her? Hating someone is exhausting, just let things flow naturally. Hatred and non-hatred will come with time, don't deliberately make any decisions, let everything follow your heart."
Camille leaned over, and rested her head on Sienna's shoulder.
Sienna continued, "The events have occurred, you shouldn't blame or feel guilty, it wasn't you who caused all this, don't feel that because you didn't treat her well, didn't actively change or maintain the relationship, that led to her leaving, you won't have that chance again."
"All of this wasn't what you wanted it to become, you've tried to change this relationship multiple times, but she is unappreciative. They chose to push you away, not you wanting to leave."
Sienna was genuinely worried that Camille would feel that with Page gone, there would be no chance to mend their mother-daughter relationship in the future.
But Camille had been the one trying to mend it from the start, just like a child seeking affection from a parent, but Page repeatedly pushed her away, showed indifference, and at the first sign of negativity or criticism, she distanced herself to avoid any contamination or involvement.
How can a mother like that deserve her daughter's continuous efforts to please her?
Sienna spoke comforting words to Camille, she was Camille's friend, she had witnessed how Camille interacted with the Armstrong family all along, her heart ached for Camille. As for the Armstrong family, Camille had done more than enough, no one had any right to say a word against her.
The two of them stayed in the car for a long time, with Sienna keeping Camille company most of the afternoon.
At one o'clock in the afternoon, Ayan returned from Simpson Group.
Camille was sitting in her room lost in thought, and as soon as Ayan opened the door, he saw her.
Camille still felt a bit unsettled inside, her feelings for him were always there, strong and unwavering. Even if they never communicated again, he would be enough for her.
Ayan walked over to her, gently embracing her, and Camille naturally knew it was him, so she nestled into his arms.
She didn't cry, she just felt weak all over.
After a brief silence, Camille finally spoke, "How's everything being handled?"
Ayan replied, "The body has been handed over to the funeral parlor, but we have to wait for Grace to come back before making any decisions. Since it involved a death, the authorities will naturally investigate. They've already visited the Armstrong family in the afternoon, as for what was discussed, it's still unclear. Later, I'll have Kian go ask Logan."
Camille simply nodded in response.
In the evening, the two of them had dinner at home, taking a short rest in the afternoons. Since Grace would be back later to deal with Page's affairs, they would likely have to stay up late, maybe even the whole night.
