Regina lowered her head, lost in thought, but remained silent.
Grace continued, "You betrayed Mom. Even though you've been good to us, you betrayed Mom, your sister. You owe her. This wasn't her choice; it was arranged by our parents. So, can't you seek revenge on my mom in a different way?"
Regina tightly pursed her lips, probably feeling resentful. However, the current situation didn't allow her to persist any longer. She could only speak softly, saying, "Grace, I know I've wronged your mom. I owe her. No matter what I say now, it won't make up for it. The only thing I can do is not be with him. That's all I can do. It's agonizing for me, especially when your mom treats me better and better. My guilt keeps growing."
Grace remained silent, her face expressionless. Observing this, Regina immediately repeated her feelings of guilt and self-blame, eventually bursting into tears. Perhaps men liked women like her-vulnerable and able to showcase their masculinity-hence why Brody remained devoted to Regina.
Grace pondered all this, and the inner torment within her continued to grow. She fell into silence, wondering how Page would feel if she knew everything.
They say that when someone dies, they briefly linger in this world. Would Page witness such a scene?
She must be regretting it deeply.
With these thoughts in mind, Grace couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh, finding it particularly ironic.
Grace didn't want to discuss this topic further with Regina, especially since she believed Regina's words were insincere. If Regina had even the slightest guilt or remorse in her heart, things wouldn't have turned out the way they did. Besides, now she and Brody had a child who had grown so much, concealing the truth from everyone for so many years, causing Page to earnestly care for her. But what did it ultimately result in?
Grace couldn't swallow this injustice.
She narrowed her eyes, her face cold and indifferent, as she said, "Aunt, I just read the transcripts of your interrogation with Dad. Aren't you curious about what he actually said?"
Regina's curiosity didn't seem significant as she simply asked, "What did he say?"
"Dad told the police that this whole thing was actually your idea. You felt Mom was keeping too close an eye on him lately, not giving you both any time alone. So, you felt dissatisfied and believed it was a provocation. Then you advised Dad to act according to your wishes."
Grace stared at Regina without blinking, her expression devoid of any emotion. Not knowing what Regina was thinking, Grace continued, "Otherwise, we wouldn't be under constant surveillance while talking right now. If Ayan hadn't arranged everything, we probably wouldn't even have the chance to speak privately."
