Camille stood up, looking down at her from above with a cold and indifferent gaze. She said, "I will help you find your child, but I will also tell him about his background and what you have done. Honestly, I have to admit, while you may not be capable, your childrearing skills are quite good."
Vere was well-behaved and had a good moral compass, clearly a result of Regina's upbringing. He was kept in the dark about his origins up to this point.
Camille said these words just to confirm her suspicions.
It was only when she saw Regina's emotional outburst that she understood she had hit the mark.
Camille smiled, the hint of a smirk on her lips, but she did not say another word.
Seeing Regina's increasing agitation, she continued to scream, "Camille, you can't do this. You can't harm Vere. You can't treat him like this. He is innocent. He is innocent. How can you do this?"
Camille was already walking out of the room, and although Regina tried to get up, she was trapped and couldn't move.
Her tone softened from the beginning, "Cami, I saved you. Don't do this, please. Don't do this. He doesn't know anything. Everything is directed at me. You're a mother now, you can't harm my Vere."
As Camille walked out, Regina's cries echoed down the hallway.
Grace stood at the doorway, their eyes meeting briefly. Grace immediately approached Camille, asking softly, "Are you really going to tell Vere everything?"
Grace's face was filled with worry, her eyes reflecting genuine concern and fear for Camille's actions.
Camille could see Grace's concern and disapproval, and suddenly, she felt a mischievous urge to tease her.
Camille replied lightly, "I have that intention. Otherwise, I wouldn't have said that, would I?"
Grace frowned even more, her expression grave. She said, "Cami, is this the right thing to do?"
"What's wrong with it? Are you getting soft now? Don't you know what she's done? If you go soft now, won't you regret it later?"
Grace bit her lip, silent for a moment before saying, "I might regret it, but I don't want Vere to know so much. If Vere learns all this, he'll live in a world of pain. He's just a child, he doesn't know anything. Bringing him into this might not be fair, right?"
Camille was no longer too concerned about Grace's reaction, as it was clear she was more interested in how Grace perceived her.
