Once the idea occurred to Camille, she couldn't shake it off. Even when Ayan explained to the old Simpson and Fletcher Talia why they should prioritize having the wedding first in order to combine it with the remarriage proceedings, Camille didn't pay much attention.
After Ayan finished speaking, he reached out and gently held Camille's hand. However, Camille didn't respond and kept her head down, her expression somewhat distant.
The old Simpson also looked at the two of them and asked in a gentle voice, "Cami, what do you think about what Ayan said? From my perspective, it would be better to handle the remarriage proceedings first and then prepare for the wedding separately. After all, it takes time, sometimes up to six months or a year. We can collaborate with several wedding planners to speed up the preparations, but it will still take a few months. So, what are your thoughts?"
Camille didn't show much emotional reaction. With a calm expression, she looked at the old Simpson and said, "Let's go with Ayan's suggestion. Since he has already made up his mind, we should follow his lead."
Since Camille had spoken like this, the old Simpson and the others naturally had no objections.
However, preparations for the wedding did need to begin, and naturally, that task was entrusted to Talia.
Talia said, "You should take some time to choose your wedding dress soon. Wedding preparations take time, so it would be good to take your wedding photos first. It will also give us the opportunity to take a family portrait."
Talia's idea was unanimously approved. However, Camille's mood remained somewhat low. The others might not have noticed, but Ayan could sense it.
After dinner, the old Simpson insisted that they stay at the Simpson's mansion.
It worked out perfectly since Camille hadn't spent much time with Timmy lately. Naturally, she agreed.
She played with Timmy in the nursery, then with the help of a nanny, she bathed him. Around ten o'clock, Timmy fell asleep.
Camille stayed in the room and didn't go out until Ayan pushed open the door and entered.
Seeing her sitting by the bed, watching Timmy sleep, Ayan spoke softly, "What are you doing sitting here?"
"Nothing," she replied calmly, without even lifting her head.
After she spoke, Ayan became even more certain that she was truly upset.
He walked over, stood next to Camille, and looked down at her. Neither of them spoke, and she didn't even make eye contact.
Ayan squatted down, holding her hand and gazing into her eyes. "Are you angry?"
"No."
"Are you upset because I suggested planning the wedding first?"
He asked softly, his expression tense and serious.
Camille gave a faint smile and said, "I'm not upset. Besides, I didn't say anything about when to handle the procedures, did I?"
Ayan frowned tightly. Her tone was different from her usual calm voice, and he could clearly sense it.
He glanced at Timmy on the bed and said in a low voice, "Can we talk outside? Timmy is asleep, and we might wake him up."
"I don't want to talk anymore. Let's just do as you suggested."
"Cami..."
"Alright, if you don't want to wake Timmy, let's drop the subject, okay? I didn't say anything, so why bother overthinking it?"
Camille's tone was already very displeased, and her indifference in her words was clear.
She didn't want to continue this topic. She didn't know if they would argue if they kept talking.
As for Ayan's real intention to combine the remarriage proceedings with the wedding, or if he had other plans, she didn't want to think about it anymore.
From the beginning, he was the one who brought up the idea of divorce. Now that she agreed, he had this kind of attitude. Camille couldn't understand what he was thinking.
Camille was firm in her attitude, and Ayan couldn't do anything about it. In the end, they could only leave Timmy's room.
Camille took a deep breath, pursed her lips tightly, and her face became stiff and cold.
