“Silas, what nonsense are you talking about? If you're so capable, why don't you go ahead and deal with it now!”
The technicians' mood only worsened, and the sarcasm in their voices grew more pronounced.
Initially, Silas had been attempting to soothe their anxiety, but now, provoked by their negativity, he too became frustrated. “What's your problem? Now that there's an issue with the new energy system, we should face everything together. Why are you all behaving like this? I'm trying to offer reassurance, but you're giving up on yourselves?” he exclaimed, his tone filled with exasperation.
The few technicians who had been venting their frustrations fell silent immediately.
Someone stepped forward to smooth things over. “We're all just upset because we can't deal with the crisis. All right, that's enough. Stop arguing. Let's wait and see what Ms. Berry has to say when she arrives. It would be best if she can solve it, but if she can't... then we can only leave it to fate.”
A palpable sense of despair hung heavily in the meeting room.
Silas couldn't take it any longer. “Maybe... we should call Mr. Nolan and tell him something's happened here. After all, none of you seem to believe in Ms. Berry
“Let me have a look first.” A familiar, composed female voice suddenly echoed from the doorway.
It's Ashlyn!
Silas was overjoyed, his face lighting up as if he had glimpsed a ray of hope.
Behind Ashlyn was Sabrina, and the two of them entered the meeting room together.
Upon seeing her, Silas immediately gave up his seat. “Ms. Berry, here, take a seat.”
While most people in the room were polite and respectful toward Ashlyn, those who had previously expressed their disdain now exhibited expressions of indifference.
Ashlyn, seemingly unperturbed by the onlookers, occupied Silas' seat and directed her attention to the computer screen. “Is there an issue with the new energy system?”
