Chapter 1023
Joe quickly picked up Skylar’s phone to mute it, only to see that the caller was Aiken. His expression darkened immediately.
Pressing his lips together, he stepped out of the room while answering the call.
“Ms. Sullivan, are you still in Fachington?”
The inquiry sounded particularly gentle against the backdrop of the night.
Joe narrowed his eyes. He lit a cigarette, took a puff, and released the smoke before replying, “We’ve returned to Jipsburg. Do you need to speak with her? She’s tired and just fell asleep. You can talk to me if it’s important, and I’ll le know tomorrow.”
Upon realizing it was Joe on the line, Aiken fell silent for a moment. After a few seconds, he continued, ” My sister wanted to hang out with Ms. Sullivan, but unfortunately, you both returned early. I won’t disturb you since it’s late back in Jipsburg.”
After the call ended, Joe stared at Skylar’s phone, his expression darkened.
Once he finished his cigarette, he returned to the room and set the phone on,the nightstand.
At that moment, Skylar turned over in her sleep. She murmured, “Joe, we can only get a divorce.”
Her words were soft yet clear enough for Joe to hear.
The darkness in Joe’s eyes deepened to an alarming intensity. Even in her dreams, she seemed to be longing for a divorce.
He wondered if she truly wanted to distance herself from him so desperately. He never imagined someone would so despise him.
“Fine, if you want a divorce, I’ll agree.” After gritting his teeth and saying that, he stormed out of the bedroom, leaving Galaxy Villa behind.
Just moments after Joe left, Skylar suddenly opened her eyes. She stared dazedly at the dark room.
She thought she had just heard Joe’s voice. But looking around the dark room, she realized she was
alone.
It seemed she might have been dreaming again. After yawning and turning over, she went back to sleep.
When Skylar woke up in the morning, she glanced at her phone. There were no new messages. Joe hadn’t replied to her–as expected.
She had breakfast as usual and then hurried off to work. Before getting into her car, she checked the damage from yesterday’s rear–end collision. It looked quite serious.
She called the car dealership staff to arrange for them to pick up her car at Gardner Group at noon. After that, she called Paul.
Paul was surprised to receive a call from Skylar. “Why are you calling me, Mrs. Martin?”
He had heard from Lucas that Joe had been staying near the company and had not returned to the Galaxy
Villa.
He guessed that there must have been a fight between them. They had just returned from a vacation in Fachington, and now they were arguing.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
