Chapter 1081
Simona looked at the photo of Lizzie and rolled her eyes in disbelief.
“Seriously? She’s nowhere near as good as Skylar. Even if Joe doesn’t want Skylar anymore, he should at least find someone who’s on her level. How could he pick someone so inferior? It shows that his standards have plummeted ever since he left Skylar.”
As Aiken made his way upstairs, he caught the tail end of Simona’s rant and shook his head helplessly.
He was well–informed and had even had someone look into Lizzie before.
He discovered that Lizzie seemed to have a clean romantic history with no past boyfriends. However, that was mainly because she wasn’t interested in men. Hence, this engagement must be related to Viola, whom Skylar had him to look for.
The details Aiken uncovered about Viola were astonishing. Over 30 years ago, she was well–known throughout Jipsburg City. Today, respected figures like George and Alexander were once friends with her.
Piecing everything together, Aiken began to suspect that Skylar hadn’t actually divorced Joe.
Later that evening, Skylar stepped out of the shower and noticed two missed calls on her phone. They were both from Janine.
Joe was in the guest bathroom washing up when she realized she had forgotten to inform them about her stay. She decided to return Janine’s call.
“Mom?”
“Skye, what time are you coming home tonight?” Janine asked.
“Mom, I’m staying at a friend’s place tonight. I’ll be back tomorrow morning,” Skylar replied.
Earlier in the day, she hadn’t explained much to her family. She wanted to wait until things settled down before discussing it further.
Now, with Joe insisting she stay the night, it seemed she needed to clarify things with her family
tomorrow..
Joe walked over to her as she pondered how to approach the conversation. “Did your mom call?” he
asked.
Skylar nodded. “Yeah, I think we should just tell them the truth tomorrow.”
Joe sat down, drying his hair with a towel. “If you’re unsure how to explain, I can talk to them.”
Upon hearing his words, Skylar looked at him. “No, I’d prefer to handle it. I’ll be home in the morning and can explain everything then.”
Too much had happened regarding her and Joe over the past few days. Joe didn’t insist further. After drying his hair, he pushed Skylar down onto the bed. “Let’s do what we should be doing tonight.”
The following day, Skylar took a cab home.
After being worn out by Joe that night before, she felt completely drained. With her back and legs aching, she struggled to muster the strength to drive.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
