Stephen immediately sensed the coldness in Simona's voice. It made him feel uneasy.
"Simona, what's going on with you? Is there some kind of misunderstanding between us?" He had not slept all night, having gone from the highs of hope to the depths of despair.
Once again, he found himself broke. And at such a low point, Simona's coldness toward him as his girlfriend was a slap in the face. It hurt deeply, and he couldn't bring himself to accept it.
"What I said that day at the park was true, Stephen. Let's break up. I've been confused for a while, and I didn't know why I got back with you. But after thinking it through these past couple of days, I've realized that we shouldn't be together," Simona said, repeating her decision.
Although part of her still couldn't fully understand why she felt so torn, she knew deep down that continuing like this would only lead her to lose herself altogether.
Stephen was seething with anger. His eyes burned with rage as he grabbed Simona's hand. "No, something's not right. Someone must have said something to you, right? Someone's been stirring things between us. You believed them, didn't you?"
Simona was stunned. "What are you talking about? This is between us. No one knows we're back together. These past couple of days, I've suddenly had some clarity. I've carefully considered our situation and future.
"We're on different paths and want different things, so why should we keep holding on? Our views and expectations for the future are different, and our values don't align. It's better for both of us to part ways respectfully."
"No, you can't just break up with me. You can't just say it's over like that! After everything I've done for you, how can you just walk away?" Stephen's eyes turned redder.
His grip tightened on Simona's wrist, as if he were trying to snap it in half.
Simona winced in pain, and her expression hardened. "Stephen, what are you doing? Let go of me! What do you mean, you've done so much for me? Who's been giving more in this relationship? I don't want to fight with you again. Not like this."
Looking at him, she wondered what had clouded her judgment. She wondered how she had ever believed Stephen was her true love.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
