Chapter 84 Impending Destruction
“So what if he returns? There’s nothing he can do. It’s not like he can defeat my subordinates,” Eddie sneered.
At that moment, the door to the banquet hall opened. Everyone had thought the two people walking in were members of Skywind Gale. However, after someone took a peek at the duo, they shouted, “It’s Malcolm Kirk! He’s here!”
That instantly caused the banquet to burst into an uproar. No one had expected Malcolm to have the guts to come. Not only that, he was only accompanied by one other person. And that one other person was Christopher, who dressed up like Malcolm’s lackey.
Eddie turned his head and saw that it was indeed Malcolm, who was acting unusually reserved.
In his mind, he thought Malcolm was afraid.
However, what he didn’t know was that Malcolm wasn’t afraid of him; Christopher was the one Malcolm was afraid of.
Eddie laughed and announced, “Everyone, there’s no need to panic! This is the surprise I was talking about!”
“What’s going on, Boss?” Eddie’s subordinate asked.
“Earlier, Stanford found Malcolm alone and took people along to kill him. It turns out Stanford did something even better. He captured Malcolm alive!”
“Ah, I see. Congratulations, Boss! With Malcolm in our hands, Golden Peace will be ours!”
“This is pretty good. Centurion Corporation owns many businesses that were taken from us. It’s only a matter of time before we take it all back.”
“Yeah. Starting from tonight, Skywind Gale will ascend to greatness!”
Members of Skywind Gale began to chat about the matter. However, none of them knew that their organization wasn’t ascending to greatness. In fact, it was facing impending destruction.
Eddie raised his glass and took a sip of the red wine before standing up slowly. He then bowed to Malcolm slightly and said, “I never thought this day would come to you too, Mr. Kirk.”
“That’s right! It’s impressive that you managed to become the head of Golden Peace with your speed over the past few years!”
All of Eddie’s subordinates laughed mockingly because Skywind Gale had been oppressed by Malcolm Group in recent years. In their minds, they had finally gotten their revenge.
Of course, Malcolm wasn’t afraid of Eddie. With someone as scary as Christopher as his employer, there was nothing else he was afraid of.
“Let me give you some advice, Eddie. You have offended someone you shouldn’t have today. If you kneel and apologize obediently, perhaps I’ll ask him to be merciful and spare your life!” Malcolm declared.
Everyone at the banquet laughed when they heard that. No one had expected Malcolm to say something as outrageous as that when, in their eyes, he had already lost.
“Do you have a loose screw or something, Malcolm? How do you not feel embarrassed saying a thing like that? Don’t you know what your current situation is? You’ve been captured by us alive!” Eddie’s subordinates continued.
Eddie sneered, “I know you’re backed up by Centurion Corporation, Malcolm, but when were we ever afraid of them? I’ll take care of Diane, eventually. Aside from her, who else is left?”
At that moment, Christopher piped up, “You should be afraid because you have offended me. Those who offend me will surely die!”
The crowd was stunned at first by his sudden declaration, but they roared with laughter shortly after. Christopher looked too young, and his clothes looked too plain. Even though they could tell he was a pretty composed man from how he acted, they thought he was just Malcolm’s bodyguard.
They weren’t afraid of a bodyguard who knew how to fight a little.
To them, any of their enemies who stepped into Skywind Pavilion was as good as dead.
“You’re amazing, Malcolm. Is he a new bodyguard you hired? Hey, buddy, even if you’re an expert in fighting, you still can’t move faster than a bullet!” Eddie taunted. In his eyes, Christopher was a nobody.
“Bodyguard?” Malcolm snorted a laugh right then. “He’s the chairman of Centurion Corporation!”
