Qiana let out a long sigh.
She said, "Montez, it's okay. It's just that adults don't always get along well with each other. You're still young, so you don't understand."
Montez wanted to say something when he saw Madam Quartley coming over.
"Madam Quartley," he greeted.
Madam Quartley nodded.
She said to Montez, "Go and play, I want to have a chat with your mother."
Montez was a sensible child. When he heard that, he left.
After Montez left, Madam Quartley said to Qiana, "Qiana, I heard everything you told Montez. Why don't you tell him the truth? That Yesseca tried to poison him? Montez should know how vicious that woman is!"
Qiana shook her head.
She said, "Madam Quartley, I can't tell Montez. Montez is still young. I can't let him know something so dark. I hope that he continues having warmth in his heart. I don't want him to know that someone can be so vicious. I just want Yesseca to leave a good impression in his heart, that would be good for him."
In fact, Qiana wanted Montez to know the truth so that he would hate Yesseca.
But she could not do that.
Because if she said it, Montez definitely wouldn't believe her. He would ask Tremaine, and if he did that, Tremaine would know who told Montez about this.
Tremaine would definitely be unhappy and get a bad impression of Qiana.
Therefore, the best way to proceed was to say nothing, and let everyone think that she was a kind and generous woman.
Indeed, when she heard Qiana's words, Madam Quartley repeatedly praised her.
She said, "Qiana, you're really a good woman. Montez is lucky to have a mother like you. It's good that you're considering all of this!"
Qiana lowered her head and smiled as if she was embarrassed.
As for Madam Quartley, she lowered her voice and said, "Qiana, I have something to tell you."
"Please go ahead," said Qiana.
Madam Quartley walked closer to Qiana and said, "Qiana, now since Yesseca is gone, Tremaine is all by himself. You must seize this opportunity!"
There was a deep meaning in her tone.
Qiana's face immediately turned red.
She lowered her head and said, "Madam Quartley, he is the President and I am just a commoner. I don't have that sort of ambition. All I want to do is stay close to Montez."
Madam Quartley glared at Qiana and said, "Qiana, you might not have the ambition, but there are many women who do. What if someone like that seduces Tremaine, like that vicious Yesseca? That would hurt Montez!"
A hint of fear flashed across Qiana's eyes, as if she had thought of Montez's death.
Madam Quartley said sincerely, "Qiana, if you can make Tremaine like you, that would be good for Montez. Wouldn't it be nice for the three of you to be a family?"
Qiana's eyelashes moved lightly, as though she had been moved by Madam Quartley's words.
After a moment of silence, Qiana said, "His Excellency wouldn't like me. Even if I get to see him because of Montez, he won't..." Qiana bit her lower lip. "I am just a commoner, he wouldn't like me!"
Madam Quartley said in a low voice, "Qiana, next week is the Quartley family banquet."
Qiana looked at Madam Quartley in confusion.
