Because he and Selina had once separated before due to a misunderstanding.
He didn't want Yesseca to go through the same thing he did.
But she was firm on her decision, so he didn't want to force her to change her mind.
After thinking about this, Matthew said, "Alright Mr. Hawls, I'll go and see Yesseca today, but it's still going to be up to her."
Sheldon immediately replied, "Thank you, Mr. Perry. Thank you very much."
Even though Matthew said that it would still be up to Yesseca to decide, the fact that he was willing to talk to her meant that there was still hope!
At the new store.
After the morning rush was over, there were no more customers in the store. Yesseca and Preslie were busily counting the morning's sales at the cash register together.
Five minutes later, two customers walked in.
Just as Yesseca was about to step forward to greet them, she overheard the customers talking
to each other, "That man was so handsome. Did you say he walked into this bakery?"
"I think so. He got out of his car and went straight here. He must have walked in here just before we did."
Yesseca was puzzled.
What handsome man?
The first person that came to her mind was Tremaine.
Preslie also heard the conversation the customers were having.
Noticing that Yesseca wasn't looking alright, she quickly said, "Yesseca, you should go and prepare some more pastries in the bakery. Otherwise we won't have anything to sell this afternoon."
Preslie wanted to keep Yesseca occupied in the baking room..
So that she could deal with Tremaine!
Yesseca nodded with her now pale looking face.
She didn't have the courage to face Tremaine again so soon.
Everything she had said to him last night had completely drained her of her spirit and energy.
Yesseca nodded right away.
Yesseca and Matthew went to the lounge area upstairs.
Their new bakery had an upper floor that had a bar and a lounge.
They sold bread and pastries downstairs while upstairs sold drinks.
The rush had just ended not too long ago, so it was just Matthew and Yesseca upstairs.
Matthew chatted with Yesseca and told her about Selina. He mentioned that Selina always talked about her but because the children were such a handful at home, she wasn't able to come out and visit her.
Yesseca smiled when she heard this. "Of course. Children are the most active and mischievous around this age. She probably has a headache everyday because of them."
"She does have headaches because of them." A hint of affection glimmered in Matthew's eyes. "She herself was such a big kid herself. Now she's got two of her own, of course she gets headaches."
After saying that, Matthew added, "But it's all good. Brine helps us look after them during the day when we're at work. We always make sure to spend time with them when we get home."
Yesseca's smile widened. There was a hint of jealousy in her voice as she said, "Selina must be very happy. Even though her children give her headaches, she must feel very happy and fulfilled inside to have such a happy family." "What about you?" Matthew suddenly changed the subject. "When are you going to have a happy family of your own Yesseca?"
