My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey) novel Chapter 2389

Once the call was disconnected, a myriad of feelings coursed through Tremaine.

He suddenly felt the need to return to the presidential office as soon as possible.

Half an hour later, Tremaine arrived at his destination.

News of his arrival, of course, had immediately reached Rorita's ears.

This was the second time that Tremaine had deviated from the norm and returned this early.

This time however, Tremaine did not seek Rorita out the minute he arrived. Instead, he went to the bedroom and headed straight in.

Inside was a portrait of him and Yesseca on the wall.

A smile reached Tremaine's eyes as he focused all his attention on Yesseca's figure in the picture.

"Yesseca, this is your wish, isn't it?" he whispered. "You wanted to open a world famous patisserie store. Since that is your wish." He paused for a moment. "Then, I'll help you fulfill it."

A long while later, Tremaine finally stepped out of the bedroom only to bump into Rorita.

"Mr. Tremaine," Rorita greeted softly.

Tremaine inclined his head a little towards her.

"Mr. Tremaine, I've ordered the kitchens to prepare some food since I heard you were back. Let's have dinner together."

Tremaine did not refuse.

He proceeded to follow her into the dining room.

The dishes were already on the table and all of them were Tremaine's favorites.

Tremaine glanced at Rorita in surprise.

Rorita gave him a gentle smile. "I asked Madam Quartley as to your preferences."

Of course, at the same time, he felt a little guilty towards her.

After all, even if it brought great honor to the family, which young girl would want to be a 'puppet'?

Tremaine contemplated this for a moment before he declared, "Rorita, should the day come when a man suitable for you appears, we can simply get a divorce. I'll set you free."

Rorita chuckled, "Mr. Tremaine, there won't be such a day. I'm responsible for the position that I currently hold. Since I have become the president's wife, I must set a good example for the women of Nashaland as the very figure of a good wife and mother. With that said, how could I turn my back on this marriage?"

"Which is why no matter what, I will accompany you as an ally for the rest of my life, in order for you to not be the source of discourse amongst the people of this nation or be used by those who hold ulterior motives because of familial issues. This is my duty. I have understood this from the very first day that I married you."

Tremaine was silent throughout, only the guilt he held for Rorita deepened.

The next day soon arrived.

And on that day, something momentous happened.
