My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey) novel Chapter 2399

When all that surrounded her was extreme pain, what was a little lack of food and water!

At that juncture, except for the pain nothing else could be felt.

Thirst, hunger... absolutely nothing.

"Looks like Ruth was pretty miserable," Yesseca whispered. "Even when she knew that this day would come, she still couldn't bear it, even collapsed."

Preslie seemed to understand and yet not.

Yesseca looked towards her, "The Quartley Palace wanted to take away Ruth's child. She was reluctant to part with her son but she also knew that she had no power to fight against them. All she could do was endure the pain on her own."

Preslie burst out then, "If it hurts to this extent, then just don't give the child to Quartley Palace. She gave birth to him after all! If she doesn't hand him over, don't tell me that those in the palace would assassinate her for it!

Yesseca heaved out a heavy sigh.

What Preslie said had some merit.

However, after having gone through various tumultuous experiences, she knew more than anyone that the world wasn't solely defined in just black and white, that there wasn't an answer that was absolutely right or wrong.

The child was Ruth's, but he was also Zorion's.

Should the issue be brought to court, Ruth may not necessarily be awarded that custody.

Moreover, Ruth was only one person with no material conditions to her name. For that reason, the child's return to Quartley Palace may be a better choice for all involved.

Ruth was definitely well aware of these facts.

It was because she understood this logic that she was willing to let go.

But understanding was the furthest away from acceptance; there was no way to avoid the pain it wrought.

All of these were also not something that Yesseca would like to elaborate too much on with Preslie.

As she had experienced many of her own hardships, she could understand how helpless
