Yesseca laughed bitterly. "What would you do even if I did tell you?"
Tremaine was feeling anxious.
He glared back at her and said, "I would have found a way to save you! I would do everything I could to save you!"
Yesseca stared quietly at him and then said, "Everyone else is trying to save me too, but there's nothing they can do. Do you think you could do any better?"
His face turned pale.
Yesseca had pierced him through his heart.
He wasn't a fool.
With how well connected and powerful Selina and Matthew were, they could have easily gotten all of the best doctors around, yet they couldn't find a solution."
He was well aware of this, so he wasn't going to argue.
He couldn't believe that Yesseca was going to die.
He kept telling himself that there was a way to save Yesseca.
"I won't let you die," After some time, Tremaine emphasized, "Yesseca, I won't let you die! You hear me?!"
The light in Yesseca's eyes dimmed.
"I will find a way to cure you. I will." Tremaine's face hardened.
Yesseca sighed.
She knew that was impossible.
"Tremaine, I hope you'll find happiness in the future." Yesseca continued, "I used to hate you, but I've put that behind me now. I hope you can find it in you to have a happy life."
This would have been impossible for her to say to him back then.
But now that she was dying, she didn't care anymore.
All she hoped for was for everyone she knew to have a happy life, including the man she despised, Tremaine.
"If you want me to be happy, you have to live!" Tremaine locked eyes with her.
Yesseca kept quiet.
She knew she was dying and that she didn't have much time left.
Tremaine was sitting down on the bench, he wasn't moving.
Sheldon walked towards Tremaine, his hands trembling as he spoke, "Mr. Tremaine, you are the president of Nashaland. You mustn't ignore your responsibilities!"
Tremaine looked up.
His eyes were filled with despair, "She can't be saved. I can't find any way to save her."
Three days ago, he vowed to find a cure for Yesseca.
After those three days, he had consulted with every possible doctor, but none of them could do anything for her.
Tremaine had to face the facts.
There was no way to cure Yesseca.
He couldn't accept this. He can't!
That's why his hair turned grey after three days.
"Mr. Tremaine, it is absolutely regrettable what Miss Cowell is going through. But you must hang on! Your country needs you."
