Yesseca was startled.
Tremaine's gaze was hazy as he said, "Yesseca, before that, I had decided to give you my heart so you can live."
"But—" Yesseca cried.
"But Rorita found out. She hid the fact from everyone by bribing the doctors to donate her heart to you."
She felt as if she had been struck by lightning.
Twenty minutes later, Yesseca came to the mortuary with Preslie's help. She saw Rorita's body.
Rorita was on a stretcher and about to be sent back to Nashaland.
Trembling, Yesseca reached out to uncover the white cloth on Rorita's face.
Rorita's face was calm, and her thick eyelashes covered her eye sockets.
If it weren't for the white cloth on her body, which made it impossible to tell that she was dead, everyone would think that she was just asleep.
Yesseca wanted to cry.
But she couldn't cry no matter how hard she tried.
Sometimes, people couldn't produce a single tear when they were extremely sad.
A moment later, people came in and brought Rorita's body onto a car.
"Wait a minute!" Yesseca stopped them.
She reached out again to touch Rorita's cold hand, trembling.
The dream from the night ago came to her mind.
Yesseca's body shook, and she was on the verge of collapse.
She had never thought that Rorita, who she barely knew, would sacrifice her life for her.
And now, her heart was hurting, seeing that Rorita was gone.
It was clear that she was not familiar with Rorita in the slightest.
But somehow, it seemed like they had known each other for a long time.
It was just like in her dream.
Her best friend had died for her.
Rorita's body was loaded into the car.
