Yesseca thought the little girl was fooling around and being mischievous while going through the trash.

But when she got closer, she realized that the girl was looking for food.

"Hey there." Yesseca couldn't help but shout out.

The little girl looked over with a piece of dirty bread in her mouth.

Facing the girl's confused gaze, Yesseca suppressed the shock in her heart and tried her best to soften her voice. "Are you hungry? Why are you looking for food here?"

The girl swallowed the bread and looked at Yesseca. She hesitated for a moment before saying, "I'm hungry."

"Where are your parents? Don't they feed you?"

The girl lowered her head and said nothing.

Yesseca thought for a moment and said, "Why don't you come with me to my store? I run a bakery, and I have lots of bread for you to choose from. You can have anything you want."

The girl's eyes lit up, but she bit her lip, hesitating.

Yesseca's voice became even gentler. "Follow me. I won't hurt you. I only want to give you something delicious."

The girl remained silent.

Yesseca walked over probingly and grabbed the girl's hand. "It's not far from here. I'll take you there."

The girl's palm was ice- cold, but she did not struggle from Yesseca's hand.

She followed Yesseca back to the store.

When they arrived at the store, the girl saw the bread on the shelves, salivating.

Although she was hungry, she was still sensible. She didn't take the initiative to reach for the bread until Yesseca handled her a whole tray. The girl sat in a corner and wolfed down.
