"No, Your Excellency," Sheldon replied.
Tremaine nodded.
What followed was a long silence.
Sheldon couldn't help asking, "Your Excellency, is there something wrong?"
Tremaine looked at Sheldon and wanted to say something but stopped.
Seeing that Tremaine didn't say anything more, Sheldon didn't ask further and remained silent.
Just like that, they arrived at Quartley Palace. Before getting out of the car, Tremaine said, "When you have time, can you go to Agaphen City to see if she's okay?"
Sheldon's heart skipped a beat.
He knew Tremaine meant Yesseca.
Was he still thinking about Yesseca?
"Yes, Your Excellency." Sheldon suppressed the shock in his heart.
Tremaine nodded and got out of the car.
When Sheldon saw Tremaine's back, he felt inexplicably bleak.
The next day soon arrived.
It was a Sunday, so Sheldon didn't need to work at the Presidential Office.
He came to Agaphen City and arrived at Yesseca and Preslie's store.
The business was great, perhaps because it was a weekend.
When Sheldon arrived, he saw a group of people waiting in line to pay the bill.
He did not come forward to disturb them but sat in the lounge area.
After waiting for about half an hour, there was finally no one in the store.
Preslie quickly walked over and greeted him, "Hello, Mr. Hawls."
She had already seen Sheldon coming, but she had been too busy to come up to him.
He nodded and smiled, "Have you been well recently?"
"Yup." She said, "You saw how good business is going for us, didn't you?"
As she spoke, her eyes were filled with joy and pride.
When she saw Sheldon, she was stunned. She seemed to want to say something to him, but she hesitated.
They had worked together for such a long time, so how could Preslie not know what Ruth was thinking?
She immediately pushed Ruth to Sheldon. "Ruth, Mr. Hawls, I'm going back to work. You guys have
a good chat."
After that, she slipped away.
With her support, Ruth felt more courageous.
She plucked up the courage to ask, "Can I ask how my son is doing?"
"He's good," Sheldon said.
In fact, he did not know the current situation of her child.
He knew her child would not be treated shabbily with Madam Quartley still alive. Plus, he didn't want her to worry.
Ruth heaved a sigh of relief.
Perhaps it was Sheldon's friendly attitude that she had an urge rising in her heart.
