"But there is no other way. After all, she is pregnant with a child from the Quartley family. She must be separated from her son," Sheldon replied.
"Ruth understands that," Preslie said, "She just wants to see her child. She will be satisfied after seeing her."
Sheldon nodded in agreement.
Preslie did not know what to say at that moment, and the two of them fell silent.
After a few moments of silence, Preslie suddenly asked, "Mr. Hawls, how have you been?"
"I am doing well." Sheldon said, "What about you?"
"I am fine, too," Preslie said with a smile. "As you can see, the business in our store is doing very well."
"That's great." Sheldon also smiled. "You've finally fulfilled the wish of being a female CEO."
Preslie's face turned red.
Actually, her saying that she wanted to be a female CEO was just small talk, it was more a daydream.
Who would have thought that it would come true
in the future?
Preslie was not a woman with any education or background strength at all. How could she be a successful woman!
So, who knew what would happen in life?
"Preslie, you are great," Sheldon saw Preslie's red face and thought that she was embarrassed. So, he said seriously, "I saw you walking over step by step. You have been really great."
Preslie's face turned even redder.
Upon being praised by Sheldon, she felt somewhat embarrassed and even a little shy.
Preslie turned her head around and deliberately changed the subject, "That's enough about me. Mr. Hawls, what about Mr. Tremaine? How is he doing?"
"He is doing well too," Sheldon said, "It is just that he is too focused on work. He does not have a life outside of work at all."
