She wouldn't say that her relationship with Tremaine was tense, but it was impossible for them to be together again.
So, it wasn't appropriate for her to be so close with his son.
But Montez was so soft and huggable. She just couldn't refuse him.
Yesseca bit her lip and said, "Alright, I'll come and visit when I have time."
She figured she could travel to Nashaland once a month to visit Rorita's grave.
She could then visit Montez as well.
This wouldn't be very frequent, so she agreed to do it.
Montez burst out in laughter.
He smiled brightly as his eyes curled up in joy.
Yesseca felt her heart stirring.
Montez was so happy, just as he should be!
He didn't look cold and indifferent like he did before.
Montez was probably elated at Yesseca for agreeing to his request.
He then made another request to her.
He asked her to stay the night with him.
Yesseca, of course, did not agree to it.
Montez pleaded, "But Yesseca, I used to visit you at your house and fall asleep in your arms. Why can't we do that at my place?"
Yesseca looked at him and said helplessly, "Silly boy, that was such a long time ago. You are much too old for that now."
"No, I'm not," Montez said stubbornly, "I can still fall asleep in your arms."
Yesseca rejected his invitation once more. Montez sulked dejectedly.
Although he was keeping quiet, there were tears in his eyes.
If people saw him like this, they would be very sad inside.
Yesseca couldn't stand it anymore.
