Preslie and Ruth saw the hole as well.
Preslie especially, felt sympathetic towards her.
She recalled the time she saw Dory previously. She scolded Dory's mother, as she thought her mother was much too harsh and that was the reason why the child turned out that way.
But now, she realized that her mother had a lot to deal with as well.
What kind of world is this?! There are still people out there who have no choice but to wear such shabby clothes!
Her family must be very poor!
Everyone in the family must be too busy trying to survive to even have time to take care of their children.
After picking out a huge bag of bread, Aimeen gave it to Dory and told her to sit down and eat it.
This was the first time Aimeen had ever been kind to Dory. She said, "Dory, I'm sorry I'm not able to provide you with nice food at home. This nice lady has offered us these pastries, so be a good girl and eat up."
Dory was very confused by this.
Her mother always yelled and screamed at her.
This was the first time she had ever seen her mother be gentle towards her.
She sat down and quietly ate the large bun.
Aimeen wiped her eyes in front of Yesseca and said, "Thank you for your generosity! We haven't tasted such delicious pastries in a very long time! I am very grateful to you! I never thought we'd ever get the chance to enjoy such tasty food ever again."
Aimeen rolled her eyes when she pretended to wipe away her fake tears again.
She was aiming for a lot more than some paltry pastries.
"Madam, whenever you need food, you are always welcome to some from our bakery. We always have some leftovers after we close up anyway." Yesseca offered.
"Yeah, you can come and have some anytime you want." Both Ruth and Preslie piped in as well.
