Chapter 576
Herbert had noticed Gencvicve’s presence as well. He turned to Paula and asked out of curiosity. “Are you friends?”
“Yeah. She’s the younger sister of Mr. Sutton from Specter Corporation.” Paula smiled as she gave Genevieve a look. “My husband is good friends with Mr. Sutton.”
Herbert fell silent.
His granddaughter had told him that her boss, Genevieve, was a big bully. She also identified Genevieve as the younger sister of Cooper Crom Specter Corporation and Armand’s ex-wife. Who would have thought that she would be standing before him right now?
Herbert recalled that Genevieve had picked up his medicine from the ground and handed him a glass of water at the airport.
Moreover, he found her to be gentle, kind, and polite throughout their conversation in the car.
She doesn‘t look like the type to bully others.
Herbert waited until he and Paula reached a quiet corner of the golf course before he told her why he was there.
One of the directors that collaborated with Exuberance Group was working on a new blockbuster movie. Sylvie badly wanted to become the female lead of this movie and had auditioned for the
role before this. However, it had been quite some time since she last heard from the director.
She turned to Herbert for help when she heard that Paula would be playing golf at a golf course in Jadeborough, hoping that Herbert could help her secure the role as the female lead.
After all, Sylvie desperately wanted to win an internationally-renowned award, and the only thing she was missing was a good script.
Nevertheless, she had tough luck trying to get her hands on one.
Paula felt stumped after hearing him out. “My husband and I are not allowed to intervene in the casting process even though the director works closely with my husband’s company. I’m sure everyone in the industry has heard of Ms. Clasen’s superb acting skills. I’ll have a word with the director when I get back, but I can’t guarantee that she will get the role. It’s entirely up to the director. I hope you understand.”
Herbert knew Paula had rejected his request. “Okay. Thank you so much.”
He was merely speaking on behalf of his beloved granddaughter, and he wasn’t planning on pressuring Paula into doing things his way if he got rejected.
It would be troublesome if someone were to hold a grudge against him.
Herbert and his subordinate left after their brief exchange.
Genevieve poured Paula a cup of coffee upon her return.
“Old Mr. Zeigler came to help his granddaughter securc a role,” Paula said to Genevieve as she sipped on the coffee. “But I rejected him. I know there’s a grudge between you and Sylvie. I can’t be on his side now that we’re acquainted. I’ll have to oflend one of you at the end.”
Paula sighed. “I’m getting the short end of the stick in this trade-off.”
Genevieve smiled. “That won’t be happening under my watch. You’ve been such a big help. Just let me know if you need anything from me in the future.”
“I need you for something right now.” Paula turned to Genevieve and smiled. “One of my nicces will be having a wedding at Crescent Manor in Baykccp on the twenty-cighth of this month. You are cordially invited to play a song for them at their wedding. Will you be free on the twenty cighih?”
“Oh, what an honor,” Genevieve replied. “I will be there no matter what.”
Paula laughed jovially at her words.
Suddenly, she grimaced in pain, gasped for air, and collapsed on the chair.
Genevieve immediately jumped up from her seat. “Mrs. Hossler?”
Without further ado, she whipped out her phone and called for an ambulance.
